I really do not know what I do know is it did no belong in the boom in the first place the serco dealer said it should be a long 2 inch bolt with step down threads with a castle nut when I looked at the boom in the daylight someone had welded a nut to the boom and put this pin in which had a retainer plate welded to one end to hold it in place with a small bolt I will get some pictures when the new pin comes in the pin hole right behind the log upright in between the hoses is where it broke out he was in the middle of loading when it happened
Municipal salt spreader auger hydraulic motor no workie......they chewed completely thru the yellow wire
A couple whoops today... We were using the conveyor to load the trailer from a shed yesterday, almost done, and the belt slows way down, stops and starts slow again. I thought the set screw on the coupling between drive unit and roller was loose. Took it apart this morning, chinesium parts failed... Roller shaft Key in coupling broke too. But the conveyor was free when we got the splitter.... Thinking of welding to coupling to the roller, what y'all say?
T.Jeff Veal Good to see another hoarder here who believes the job isn't done right until you bleed on it. Happens all the time with me.
I usually reserve that for last resort type stuff...but its up to you. If you have to replace everything anyways, might as well...
So the coupling just attached the drive to the roller with no bearing in between ? If so I'd say weld it as you can always replace the shaft in the roller at a later date.
Lol...I thought I had deleted that picture. I did that later in the morning, got it caught between 2 logs on the tractor forks. Glad I had my gloves on.
That's correct, the hydraulic drive motor is the support for that side of the roller. Wish I could put a lovejoy type connection on it.
Brought the roller to work tonight, my shift mechanic drilled and tapped 2 holes in the coupling. Got 1 in the old key way on the shaft, other 90° to it. Installed bolts and lock nuts. We'll see how this works. At least it will be easy to take coupling off to replace shaft later.
