So it's 13% humidity in the house and 43 % outside. After some calcalatin' I figgered I will open the winder an let all the 43% in. Numbers don't lie now.

Seriously, I've been stuffed up here since the cold settled in, and this thread has me thinking about adding some moisture to the air.

And here I am thinking it's cold here at 7 degrees and breezy lol.. Happy to say my home is toasty with the wood stove, upgraded insulation and new oil boiler.. :)

So I stopped in at the ReStore here in town on my way back from gassing the car and found a Kenmore (Essick) whole house humidifier for 15 bucks that was 4 years old.. I know because the receipt and manual were in the box lol.. I also grabbed the new spare filter.. Both were under $20.00 including tax.. They paid $115.00 for this unit 4 years ago! Very quiet and the original filer is in good shape!

I went in for something else and couldn't pass this up! They had 2 and I was tempted to buy the other one.. Maybe I should go back?

Quit thinking and go get it as a backup.
Wondering how much power it pulls.

My wife thinks I am crazy lol.. Had to move it away from the thermostat as it was sending a cool breeze near my thermostat making the heat run.. Started feeling warm and saw heat was running and temp near me was 72 lol.. This unit blows out the top and old unit blew away from the front.. Problem solved!

    Is that a 2.5 or 3.9 gallon ? Welcome to Sears.com
    I have the 2.5 gallon $135
These are the Wick/Filter I have in it right now they work good , better than $18 apiece , I paid $10.98 for 2 of them in December, now I can't find the 2 pack on amazon
Anyway this is the same but same price for only 1 , from what I understand some of the filters on amazon won't even stand up right

:hair: If you click on it it says $10.98
Ok I clicked again and it changed :wacky:

Not sure but I think it is rated 8 gallons per day output but tank isn't very big.. This model has 3 speeds I believe.. The filter it uses is the MAF-2..

Edit: The manual states the tank holds 1.2 gallons which is rather small.. Wish it were double this.. It is what it is.. Seems to work well just need to fill more often.. Rated 1.2 amp at high speed however I probably won't use that as it is too loud for me! Low is perfect..

That's the same one I have then , 2.5 Gallon total , tank is 1.2 gal, fill the tank twice.
    That's a great score :dex:
I use this stuff in the water , 2 cap fulls per gallon , 64-oz lasts a long time

When the filter is not working so good anymore, flip it end for end
