Looks like a few wood types. Even if it's not all good hardwood, $400 is a super deal What types are in there ? One looks like white oak, premium/grade "A" firewood!
I don't see how that logger could put bread on his table at that price. Unless he got paid to do the land clearing? If I could get good logs at that price Id have him keep bringing loads in till I had no room. Stack it 20ft high!
Yep, that seems like a good price. The last load I got was $1500 for 20 cord of all Oak. Even if that's a mix of hardwoods, it's a good deal. Well, unless it's a soft hardwood like Poplar. Don't worry about the heat, just do a little at a time and you'll be done before you know it. Hydrate.
That's nice and all, but I get my wood for free. All I have to do is is hack my way through the jungle to get to the wood, get my quad and trailer stuck between the trees, get tore up by sticker bushes, eaten alive by ticks, black flies, gnats, horse flies and skeeters, wade through waist-deep poison ivy, and sweat my arse off in 80+ temps with 60+ humidity. Hey wait a minute....those log loads are sounding better all the time! I'll be interested to hear what that stacks out to. I don't have much experience eyeballing log loads....
Time to swap that 20" bar onto the 460 and get with it! Get started by 8 or so and you should be done by noon right?
With the minor problem that you will be knee deep in chips and lost in a sea of rounds. Getting things out of the way is what usually slows me down when dispatching log loads.
That's why I like the big Homie 1050 I've got. 100ccs of exhaust blast keeps the area under the saw clear.
I would love to come and help. Let me know when your gonna get started, and I may shoot down to cut and ride
Talking to a buddy yesterday and he had a load dropped off last week Supposed to be 8 cord but he is questioning it? $1200 Nice scoop Cert
