I am unsure why the ice cube trick is needed (I know what it does, but normally it is used just for testing that things are working as they should). Why not just turn up the temp so the stove will turn on?

the room temp dial on the Harman is very sensitive. i have it set nicely to go on at 64, and off at 70 or 71 as seen on my wall tstat for the dino burner. i don't want to mess with it, so on these days, a bag of ice cubes does the trick nicely

    I noticed that too...
Being my first season with the Harman.. I have been farting around with
    all sorts of combinations.
The first time I cranked that dial up, what a thought was a "tad",
it went up to 78°... so then I realized that the thickness of a line, makes a difference!

I had forgotten about the sensitivity. the t-stat is great for the P43 (living area). And I'm not worried about keeping a precise range downstairs, so just set the P61 to somewhere between 70 and 75. If it feels way too hot, I turn it down a scoach and I never need to turn it up just to take the chill off in the morning since I'm just passing thru on my way to the garage.

21* right now, supposed to get up in the high 50's. Sun is just starting to hit the house and the P43 is ramping down from its last burn - probably until later this evening.

P68's been off for several days now and just sipping a little oil for the chill this morning. Since hot water is off the boiler, it really isnt running more than just heating the water. That part will change when the boiler is replaced and I likely get a seperate hot water tank.

Mines chuggin away. First good burn in a few days now!! Got to sleep in a lil bit. First cup just poured. Chillax a bit until it warms up some.

    Then maybe a lil :seasoned:this afternoon. ;)

Luckily I got up early and clipped it on so the boss only complained it was chilly when she got up. Whew!!
