Hmm, don't know what forecast you are looking at - I'm seeing 70's and 80's. Except tomorrow and the temps and the rain for then is all my fault since I have a ride planned. That's okay, if no t-storms, I'll go anyway.

You bet!! Just dont lose the covers from the damp rid. You will need those to store the containers in the fall. Also, after I have opened the replacement bag of material, I store that bag in a zip lock bag that is rolled up tight. Even though the bag closes I like to make sure that no moisture will get in there and ruin the material. ;)

Yeah, it hasnt run here either for about a week. I may fire it up just before final cleaning to dry it out. Last year I used a construction drop light and a 100 watt bulb to dry the firebox with the door closed (not fully latched so the elect cord doesnt ruin the gasket) before cleaning. It actually worked really well.

Only issue is that incandescent bulbs are going away or gone and an LED/Florescent wont do chit for this.

Who knows B, it may have been the forecast for Summit, Greenland I was looking at. :loco:

    Summit-Us, Greenland | 4° | Partly Cloudy

I'd blame the Beer, but I'm still on work schedule.. Days are beginning to blend together.. Usually happens around this time of year. With your work schedule, I'm "preaching to the choir", I know.. Hope you are able to enjoy your limited time off today.

I had some tree work planned this am to remove some 'obstacles' interfering w/ satellite dish reception, but it's getting wetter out there, I ain't getting any younger, and idea of operating potentially hazardous equipment, in wet weather, isn't thrilling me at all..

I'd feel much better w/ a good pair of chaps for these cuts, dropping 4-6" diameter 50-70' trees, 190-270 degrees against the lean, w/ roping, is gonna be a science project for me.
There, I said that, on a firewood hoarding site. :picard: Wood Pellets have made me soft. :hair: I may need Beer therapy. :pete:

I think I'll have another cup of coffee.. :coffee:

    * I just realized this post has absolutely nothing to do with the Stove being off.

Got it G - Thanks for the good info. and save here.

Okay - not the end of season for me. It never really warmed up in here yesterday. Today it's dark, damp and chilly outside which made it chilly inside. I turned on the thermostat so the P43 would warm it up a bit. Only ran once though so far today (I fired it up at noon).

This is the type of weather where I run the AC and the stove to dry it out some.

No fires now for several days.

MAYBE by the end of the week and into the weekend we may see some cool showery weather and the need for a spot fire.

Summer is here with temps that last few days in the 90/100 F range.

A little early for that crap me thinks.

Must be the Global Frying thing.

La Nina is coming and the winter will be nasty. Arrrrrrgh

After seeing the extended forecast on the news tonight I may have to fire mine up later in the week. Highs around 60, some sun, some showers, some wind with overnight lows in the 40's. Right into next week. What the hell happened to the above average warm summer?

A few degrees warmer, but much the same here Larry.

re: what happened, if I understand Dr. Jeff Master's blog / mid-term forecast over @ Weather Underground correctly, El Nino officially ended back in May, shifting the weather pattern, favoring neutral (and slightly cooler & wetter) weather in our region during Summer, before transitioning to La Nina pattern in the fall, and a more 'traditional' 2016-2017 winter season..

Still need to stock up on more pellets here.

( Very Nice pics in the other thread BTW, great looking plants -Thanks for posting them! )

I'm done. Stove hasn't run in a couple of weeks. I unplugged it yesterday before the thunderstorms rolled through.

I know that others disagree but I subscribe to the theory of leave it dirty and covered with ash until the Fall and then I do everything, including the venting. I've found I get less of a chance of rust that way. JMHO.

Working all around the stoves at present.
AC been working hard with temps in the 90/100 range until today.

Forecast is for cooler and wetter starting today.

Snow up in the Mt's down to 4500 ft by Friday.

Don't know if we will need a fire or not.

I'm thinking we may need a spot fire one morning maybe as the low is forecast to be mid 40's F.

Stove season winds to a close.
