Bucked a little this evening. 462 was only saw grabbed. The longer bar with a little HP is nice as there’s no bending over. Just cut with the end of the bar. I do like the larger logs tho. These are too small to use the log lift on the splitter. I’ll be tossing them up with the hatcharoon. My back won’t be happy but my toes should be warm. The 550 may get the rest of it. There’s sand and stone in the bark. Saw some sparks tonight. Easier and cheaper to sharpen those shorter chains
I’m still hoping the warm winters aren’t the new normal and BL will certainly outlast me,,,,,unless I burn it first. LOL
You should save some of the 4-6” logs for making posts. Could be useful for all sorts of things. Especially with the current lumber prices.
Great Joe, absolutlely great. Im thrilled with a PU full and that wouldve made me faint! Had i known i wouldve stopped by. I was in Windham again today.
Gotta watch your phone closer Never know when you’ve missed something LOL Like I said stop by. Bring the 361. We can introduce it to its new babies daddy. Heck bring the whole family. Just save some room in the truck
I agree, our winters on average are getting milder. Anyone saying otherwise has their head in the sand. I really don't know how much stock to put in NOAA's winter forecast though. Back at the beginning of this year, I was reading a lot of articles saying that we were in the middle of a solar minimum, that solar output was going to be so low that the summer would be significantly cooler than average with a lot of rain. I was almost going in to panic mode with my garden, thinking and overthinking all these scenarios. Obviously we had the exact opposite of what they forecasted. So either the effects of climate change are so great at this point that despite the solar minimum we had a scorcher of a summer, or scientists really can't say with any certainty what our weather patterns will actually be. Or maybe it's a bit of both. Computer models, interpreting the data, there's a lot going on there that I don't even pretend to understand. I guess we'll have a perfect winter forecast after it's over. My guess is we'll have a mixed bag. Some warmer weather, 40s, 50s even, but also some frigid cold snaps sweeping down from Canada that'll have us all huddling around our stoves.
That's an awesome score jo191145 ! That'll make heat for a few winters for sure. Locust is hard on chains no matter what, but man it's worth it. buZZsaw BRAD , you'd best get over there & help the man buck that Locust up.
I ll be there...maybe wielding two saws at a time! Always glad to help....especially where firewood is involved!
