    If you look at my piccy....you will see the fuzzy edges left from when we tore out the carpet and put down the Pergo.

    I left the hearth pad laying on top of the carpet and pad since if NOT the vent would not line up......and the pad/carpet stops the stoves noise from resonating through the house.

    And...I was way too lazy to tear the stove out and shim the hearth up with 3/4" plywood to compensate for the carpet and pad if I removed it...
