WHITE OAK???...Yes, please.

Friend of ours at the local bank was looking for someone to take down a big white oak that was leaning over their pool house. I gave him a guy's name, he takes trees down but no clean up.
Got word that he had taken everything down except the main stem. Could we clean up the wood, needed room to drop the main stem soon.
Since I was off, sure can...
The area was close and steep, felt like we were in the mountains...except for the temps...
We had to come in by the corner of the pool house, then turn and go uphill to trailer
The main stem, right behind it, is a very deep gully. Had to use chain to pull a couple pieces back from the edge.
A couple of the big logs headed to the trailer...

Nice work considering the logistical (my favorite big word) issues. Most of the time hills are my enemy.

Not much, I think we have 1 other white oak tree on the yard and 2 post oaks, same family

It will be really sweet if we get that trunk section......even with the barbed wire in the bottom.

 

I'm always happy to get them. Hope that one's not a stringy fighter. Seems every so often I find one that wants to be stringy.

They dropped the main trunk this weekend. Haven't heard if it's getting milled yet.
