I’ve never burned any in the stove yet, but the apricot tree I cut up to use for smoking is the best smelling wood I’ve came across. I think a few chunks made it into the stacks of firewood before I realized how great it is for cooking. Pines and cedar (juniper) smell really good too!

There's so many varieties of Aspen and poplar. Aspen - Wikipedia Populus tremuloides, the Quaking Aspen, what you'll find out West, is actually one of the same aspens that we have and what they have out on the North East as well.
