I dont want to thin out collection as I use them all but I have 5 saws and need a brush trimmer/ weed Wacker. I have a ported echo 590, a 2511t, a stihl 026 pro, 360 pro, and ms250. The echos are staying. The 360 pro never likes to hold a carb tune, the 026 rear cover likes to pop off, and the ms250 is almost brand new. Im torn on which of the 3 stihls I should trade in towards a new trimmer.

If have said to sell the echo 590. They are ok saws, but heavy. I'm sure porting helps , but it's starting at a low point and it really didn't lose any weight from porting it.

The 026’s are good saws. I always liked mine. I would certainly keep it over the MS250.

Too attached to it, it was my first new saw and its just been too loyal, and I just got it ported about a month ago so it feels like a whole new saw again. I also have 10 spare chains for it.

I just wish it was in better shape. Its got a new carb and is a good runner but the plastic covers are rough and dont like to stay on. I know they were a great saw, but im sure its got a lot of hours and the ms250 is a better runner.

Id definitely keep the echo saws as well. I like the MS250 saws so id keep that. Especially considering its a current model like both echos. OEM Parts should be easier to get for current model saws if that is a concern.

You'd prob get more on trade for the 250 than other 2 Stihl saws combined, depending on how much this shop sells to Joe Homeowner.

I’d definitely not trade in a ported one, probably won’t get what it’s really worth. My choice would be the 250, trying to get as much as possible toward the new purchase.

They cut log loads to sell firewood at their business and ported a new 501p for their shop saw. Little screamer for sure.

How much they giving for trade? I remember when Jonsered used to have 'bag or drag' sales. I think $50 was the allotment but that was some years ago when $50 was still $40.

    Buy this and trade?

Maybe not ideal but have you looked into a used brush cutter?
Upgrade later when funds free up.
Might do better at a private sale of a saw.
List every saw you have at a high price and if it goes at least it's more than the trade value.
