I’ve just got a magnetic Rutland stove top one right on the top close to the front edge above the door. I’ve thought about some type of probe style one for the pipe, but it runs good as is.

    J. Dirt The specs on the 1750i and the Revere call for using up to 18" wood. What size do you find works the best? I have a good 3-4 years of 12" wood cut and/or split. I am looking forward to cutting wood a little bit longer than what I have been doing.

Erik B remember it is always best to not completely pack the stoves for good burns. Leave at least an inch on both ends for sure.

First year of our new stove, every time a burn was a little hotter than any previous you'd smell the paint again. Not bad, just enough to know the smell of paint and know the stove must have reached a new high for an operating temp. . Curing, hardening, off-gassing, whatever it is doing.

They started at 8AM and were done by noon. There is no way I could have done what they did in that span of time. Here are the pics I took of the work from start to finish. We start at saying good bye to the old Earth Stove.

Exciting stuff there Erik B . To me there is something very elemental about wood heat. It strikes to our very core as human beings. At least to those of use who have not lost touch with older times and ways. Nice clean installation. I wish you many cold winter evenings basking in the purifying warmth and glow of your new insert! It will be the heart of your home!

Thanks metalcuttr I hope the smelly process of breaking it in isn't too bad. I am looking forward to seeing the reburn tubes firing. I have always liked the pics that have been posted showing them in action.

    Congrats! I love my Lopi.

    Nice you had good installers.
I paid to have mine installed because I did
not have the tools or skills to cut out the section
of the old fire place damper.
Once they were gone, discovered the tabs that hold
the liner adpt to the stove would not let the bypass door close all the way.
They did not install the trim ring on the door correctly.
    I fixed all that myself.
I went back to the store where we got the stove
and got half my money back on the install.

    All is well now.
    Happy toe toasting!

Today was the day to break in my new Lopi Revere. I followed the instructions and brought the temps up to 600F for 45 minutes after being at 400F for 45 minutes. I think I will like this stove.
Here is a picture of the first fire.

Nice. Good day to break it in. Not too warm out, and not too cold either. So it's the paint outgasses, then you can open windows.
