While I don't feel old just yet I can see the small signs. I can do almost everything physically I could at 30, however my recovery time is much longer. Few more grey hairs in the beard, not so much on top just yet.
40 was no problem. 50 easy. 55 hit the old man wall. Had stroke during routine surgery. Now at 60 it seems every thing hurts.
I was doing fine until the doc upped my amlodipine from 2.5 to 5.mg/day I developed the dizzies me thinks the cure became worse than the affliction.
I think I was born old! To many problems to list BUT I have lead a very strenuous life as a carpenter, welder and believe I am the better for it. You learn to push through the pain and keep on truckin. When I moved to Construction Management and slowed down physically things got worse. Then you end up worrying about your heart and pancreas instead of your back. In my late 60's and still forge ahead just slower than in the past. Move it or loose it! Attitude is everything! Behind every active, Older Man is an Overactive Wife sending him out to be that way (active)!
That is awesome! You have a lot of self discipline. I was in physical therapy for nerve damage. They didn’t have a program for that so I just worked out. Since then I’ve been exercising on a glider in the basement. It does make me feel better.
I am pretty fortunate to be healthy. Probably in my mid fifties I needed sleep instead of working 20 hours straight with a brief sleep and at it again- working breaking homicide cases. I needed to sleep because my brain was tired rather than my body. Physical stamina is still good, but waking up is tough sometimes.
Yesterday afternoon, bucking a couple 18” 20’ long cherry trunks in full sun light at 84*, my butt was dragging.
This is very interesting/ appealing to me. Can you be more specific on how you mix , dose size, how many times a day? I’ve seen turmeric but I’m not sure what peperine is. Thank you kindly.
When Lou Ann and I got married in '83, I was talking with my Maternal Grandfather and he said, "I sit here and think of something that needs done, I grab the arms of this chair and start to get up, then I say to myself, Bill you aren't 55 anymore!" He was 92 then. Of course at 21 I thought 55 was ancient, now that I am 57 I think of this from yet another angle! Shoeing horses since I was 14 and riding broncs definitely took a toll on my body. I think the reality that I was getting. old is when I see kids of my former students now graduating!
Impressive, i ride bike (not 100 miles) lift weights and stretch regularly but a lot of aches and pains in the last year so i first felt old about 68.
