I know better than to think 64 stang coming out of garage in mud... but if it made it home Friday it would be installed by now:headbang:

I saw in the local paper a chart detailing info about weather for our area for the month of June. It listed average temps, hi and low temps and what it was last year. It also lists sunrise and sunset times. Just to cheer everyone up a bit, daylight hours will be declining by the end of the month. New burning season can't be too far away.

Weather channel said that this summer will be much cooler than normal in most parts of the country, exceptions being the northwest coast and southwest. I don't know how accurate a forecast is this far out, but the beginning of the summer here is cooler than normal. I would not mind a cool summer at all, especially if the humidity around here is lower than normal too!

I went downstairs to look at what it would take to get a fire going to drive out some dampness from the last two days of rain. However, with the construction going on, I found my stove covered with tools and dust. I left well enough alone.

But I haven't planted my garden yet, and there is snow still melting in the city snow yard. :headbang:

Based on the looks of things today, I am guessing we'll have a small fire in the allnighter tonight.

That was back on May 11th. I think I've tried to end the burning season a couple of times since then BUT I'm still burning.

Got home about 3PM today, outside was 54°F and rainy. Inside was 64°F and damp so I lit another fire.

It is June 2nd, we should be at the beach.

    My view on Saturday:

    Now on Tuesday:

    I'm getting confused, enough already...

Yeah, Was 77°, 2 days ago outside , nice & sunny.
Now 54° for the high & rain.

Nice thing about 54° outside, house warms up fast ,
even from a cold stove. 77° inside now :)

Swimming doesn't start in MI very early and probably later than normal this year. The Great Lakes especially this year will be very slow to warm up. Typically, if we are in northern MI, swimming in Lake MI doesn't start much before the second half of July but better yet in August. In Lake Superior, forget it! Lake Huron is not as deep and will warm up a bit quicker and I suspect Erie will be the same. Don't know about Ontario.

I remember one year coming home after July 4 and our granddaughter was with us. She wanted to swim in Lake MI. Okay, go! Naturally she and my wife wanted me to go. I refused but finally talked my wife into going out there. She got her toes wet and chickened out. Dang that water was cold.

Built another fire today at the wife's request. House was 62 when I got home and we have had a lot of rain the last 2-3 days. A few pieces of cherry later and the house is nice and toasty at 72.

I have been about 3 days now with out a fire. Although I do enjoy the wood stove it is nice to have a break.
I will be sleeping down stairs in a couple more weeks if it continues to stay warm.

Down into the 40's tonight, burning some mystery wood I found at the landfill this weekend. One man's trash is another man's treasure. :fire:

Lit up tonight also. I had 4 dry rounds near the stove, saved for a rainy day. It rained.

We had a fire last night and again this morning over coffee, I'm hoping this will be it.

For sure. It is late enough we all should be done with it for a couple months.

I checked on the new planting and so far the turkeys have not found it. Good!

Frost warnings for much of the state last night, we were cold outside first thing this morning, but OK after the sun came up. It was in the low 70's but you wouldn't know it with that darn wind. It has been windy ever since the rain. If we close the house up, we are warm enough without a fire.
