Glad you asked. I have no specs on this pump and can not find any. am I correct in thinking as long as I plug the quick connects together it will just cycle through the system? I asked a couple mechanics I know and they said I should be good.
As long as they are plugged together then yes, you should be ok. But what happens when you forget? Does the system harmlessly go into relief (noisy, you will notice) or do you destroy the pump/blow a hose? If there is no relief valve built into the pump, you will not have time to react.
So I got everything together fired the bad boy up and...... NOTHING...... I think it may be air bound but had to come in to watch the kids for a bit. Any thoughts?
Remove the coupling from your output line and see if it will run a bit of oil into a bucket. Best to keep the speed down (hand crank/elec starter only) until you can confirm oil flow.
Ashamed to admit it but I found the key to the pump on the garage floor. Have not had a chance to retry. The way the mount is you have to slide the pump into the lovejoy it must have slid out. No sense being stupid unless you show it.
Its finally done and works great. Just need to scrounge some metal for a table. Thanks for the help Mastermech and the rest of you guys.
