Twice in what, a week? Did you ever hear that with your old stove?

Definitely left overs. Goal is to finish this season only using FSU. Down to a bag a day and that should start dropping soon as well. :)

I'm hoping to only use my FSU's as well, although that may be a stretch.

I don't think that will be a problem...4.99 a bag for these 25 bags...I will use them even if I hate them :)

I guess I've been burning them and MWP's too long. I don't think they're all that ashy. The 2 bags of Canawick I bought had a lot more ash, but it was light and fluffy, so the FSU's might have more weight wise.

Hmmm, I get a solid 2" thick bed of ash after 6-8 hours that robs the burn of air and resukts in a billowy flame if burning high. Obviously more on a low overnight burn. Are you getting this?

Larry, might be time for you to try Room Temp/Auto and let the stove start and stop on its own :)

I have been considering that move. I hate the big flame at start up with that, I don't think it is harmful, just a little getting use to. thanks for the advise, jump in anytime. I really value experience.

She never complained about being too hot before because of the other stove. Incidentally, my son is taking the Napoleon off my hands. He has been heating with a big Englander that is just a big box. He wants to put that in his basement and use my Napoleon upstairs. I've told him it won't heat like his Englander, and it is fussy. But he thinks that is the way to go. I don't need two stoves This p68 kept us warm in the coldest temps. One stove is enough for this old goat. My family room is like a sauna at times. It is 81 in here now. I'm going to install an exhaust fan to pull air from downstairs to upstairs. That will also help in the summer when it is a bit cool and more humid downstairs and dry and warm upstairs. I bought a high volume fan that has the most quiet rating. I'll keep the air mixed well and have the best of both worlds in both areas.

That huge flame never gets old-I love it as it is providing me the heat I need. :)

That explains a lot and may be close to being TMI.

Yeah, I'm seeing the same thing, although it seems to get to a certain point and the burn becomes more normal. Not so billowy and pretty active.
