If this is too divisive or political delete this! I am curious as to how the escalating situation in North Dakota over the DAPL pipeline is being portrayed in the media where you are at and public opinion on it vs me being right here in ND. I am open to questions and will try to dispel any falsehoods or 1/2 truths from an in state point of view.
It will be interesting to hear your opinion on current events. Its not really news here. Short tidbits on it "hurting local water" I've read about it in national news though. They pretty much demonize the pipeline, glorify the protest. Looking at individual reviews on blogs Facebook etc. leads to a bigger picture like burning cars and fun 3rd world country stuff like that.
I have a friend that lives in ND, and to make it short and non-political, he pretty much says that everything the media is telling us is a lie. Big surprise there...... Now, let's not let it get political, that's just an opinion from me.
Not surprising to hear that. It sucks pouring through numerous sources trying to figure out what's actually going on. Thats mainly why I don't have an opinion, spouting one without knowing is arsnine. I know from experience that what goes on locally is either ignored or reports are irrelevant to what actually happens.
Thanks for replies. There have been so many things disproven, uncovered or done that a lot of the message is lost by the coverage that has agendas or by bad apples doing things that are contrary to what they say they are for. It is just sad to see how easily this could have all been avoided.
So sad, but so true. But why is it if you do have first hand knowledge about some happening then read about it in the news, the news sounds totally different from what you saw.
