I have been wearing a pair of Georgia laceboots all winter, with inserts from my foot doctor. So, I guess they have been my main chainsaw boots, but last summer and fall I wore Red Wing Slip on's, which I used to wear at work, and for virtually everything for the last 30 years but they are not that good in the woods, lace boots are better, and as much as I used to love slip on's another bad thing is if you have a hole of any size in your pants, and sawdust finds that hole, the sawdust finds it way into the top of the boot. I ended up with a splinter in my foot from that that, last fall.

But I have been suffering from plantar fasciitis in my left heel, and need more arch support, (currently wearing inserts in my boots) so, I have ordered a pair of JK Boots, which are pretty expensive, but seem to be of very good quality. I am tired of wearing cheap boots with too many man made synthetic materials in them. I ordered 10 inch tall boots from JK which are 2" taller then my Georgia Loggers. But if they pan out, as good as I think they will, I intend to order another pair with either 14" or 16" tops, because I like to put my pant legs inside my boots, when the ticks start coming out, which they already are here.

Today, I sprayed down heavy with tick spray and wore my 16" snake boots with the pant legs laced up inside, to help keep the ticks out, not for the snakes. And this worked pretty good, today. I cut and also hauled in a couple of loads of wood from the woods and field, and I don't think I have any ticks on me today. But lately, I have been getting into the ticks about every time I go out. With all of the tick diseases you hear about, anymore and Lyme disease is not the one I am worried about. I am becoming a lot more careful, but I can't stay out of the woods for the next 8 months, either. Alpha-Gal is the one that scares me the most, and it's here! My niece has it, and you can't eat beef and hamburger meat, etc if you have it. I hate veggies, so if I can't eat meat, I might as well cut my own throat. But I am not worried about cutting my toes off with the chain saw.

Here's a pictue of the type of boots, I am excited about. I got an email today, telling me that mine have been shipped. They sent me a set of try-on boots, before they actually built the ones I am getting. Anyway, they will serve as my chainsaw boots, for now, unless they don't fit or something, or hurt my feet. But the try-on boots felt pretty good and they are only having to make a small adjustment on mine from there. It turns out that my left heel is a half size smaller then my right and that always causes my left heel to slip up and down in many of my current boots more then my right does, no matter how I lace them, to the point that it's annoying. So, I hope these are better in that regard. Most expensive boots I have ever bought, but if they are as good as they say, in the long run, they won't be anymore expensive then buying 2 or 3 pair of cheap, crappy, ready made, off of the shelf boots, which I have rarely been happy with in the past.

Actually, this picture is closer to what I am getting, except this picture doesn't have the Honey sole, I am getting. But this one has the correct heal lift, unlike the picture above which is probably minus one on the heel lift. I need the arch support of the taller heal lift. Unfortunately, as I get older, I am having to baby my feet more then when I was younger, when most any boot would get me by.

Well, I finally got them in. JK boots (my chainsaw boots) :)
They fit pretty good, of course they are brand new, and I need to break them in. I just got through lacing them up, after a light oiling to help the break in process. Of course, they are not just my chainsaw boots, they are my everyday, everywhere, boots. They might even make it to church, on occasion, if I can keep the cow and dog manure out of the waffles. :)

They are no doubt the most expensive boots I ever bought, but in the long run, I don't think they are really any more expensive then a regular stock store bought pair and they do fit better. And they are all leather even leather lined in the toe box, no crappy synthetic liner on the inside, which has been one of my biggest grips on trying to buy store bought boots, locally for years.
