Thanks Jeremy, hope you had a good day flying. Gave the yard a quick cleaning before the rain. Watched the Lions win now watching theNE/Saints. Just finished a outstanding Prime Rib dinner. Turkey day tomorrow. Supposed to be clear tomorrow, so the bride and I will probably hop on the Goldwing for a cruise. Riding days are fast coming to a end for this season.

Now that sounds like a good day Well Seasoned.

I worked on the trail with the B300 after I did as much brush hoggin I could. The trail is just a hair over a mile long. So I was able to get the brush hoggin on a little over half of it done. Then went to work on a drainage ditch that needed cleaning and needed a culvert pipe installed at the trail. Culvert is now installed and I moved about a dozen loads of old bricks and other fill to build the area up before and after the culvert. Time consuming. But I always enjoy working with the machine. The weather was great. I will post some pics tomorrow of the area built up and with the new culvert.

It was a nice day... weather started out almost perfect, light wind clear sky with some broken cloud but then the dark grey clouds rolled in and the wind picked up a bit... not ideal but just enough to scare off the novice pilots he he. Engine was running stronger than it has all summer in the cool air which was nice (though it feels a bit fat on the low end lately, might need to tweak).

After I got back we took the kids out for a small nature hike and to pick out Halloween pumpkins which was nice too. Good day all around.

    Enjoy the ride tomorrow!

Cleaned my garage today. Almost ashamed of these pics. The finished pics don't show the Big Bear (ATV) back in there. I forgot in both pics, but it is my work ATV and is mostly used daily.

The Dixie Chopper in the finished pic, is on my Shop side. You can see a front wheel if you look hard enough.

It's a 3 car garage (double door and single door) but when the Big Bear was pulled into the empty space (dirty) there was very little room.

I moved a Lot back to the barn today. After cutting season is over, more will go back (weed wackers, push mower, Dixie, all ATV's except the Big Bear, root-tiller, pressure washer) and free up more space. Summer means a full garage. Winter we do like to park inside the garage.

Off all week from work to get fall chores done. Sick child #2 woke us up at 430 again.

Starting off the week as a plumber. Unclogged the washing machine fabric softener dispenser and changed the old hoses, next up its drill out a snapped screw from the tub drain to fix it.

Tomorrow it will be outdoor painting, then later in the week car work. In between we are visiting preschools for the twins.

Well that was fun. I wasn't actually drilling a screw, I was drilling a snapped easy out from when I tried to get clever the first time around an extract the screw.

I destroyed a carbide bit doing it but managed to get it out, then just drilled and tapped the brass like I should have done in the first place.

On to the next project, working through that long list of 30 minute jobs we all have and never finish.

ETA: since its about 40 out, lit up the stove for the final post rebuild break in fire. Aiming for 550+ and a cat light off to finish curing the paint. Meanwhile the Mrs is roasting root veggies to make soup and the kids are destroying the den. Ahhhhhh fall :)

Right where I want to be.
Well, the kitchen drain has been emptying pretty slow recently, so I took it apart yesterday.
Double sink and the one with the horizontal run to the main drain was almost completely full of crud.
Explained a lot. Yes, there's a drop, but it hasn't been cleaned out in a while. My bad.
Pumped up the pressure in the well tank today....hopefully it holds.
    Thanks Ray.:)

Got a new oil filter, fuel filter and oil for the tractor on the trip to Alpena Saturday.
Changed all that a bit ago.
Filled up the small trailer with leaves to put in the garden. Dumped and spread that. Thinking about dinner, and what to make.
It's gonna' be either chicken noodle soup or a couple chicken pot pies. Homemade, of course.
Woodshed is full, so I have a bit more time on my hands. Reminds me, I need to finish cutting the Maple in the woods and get it s/s.
Oh yeah, mowed some of the lawn earlier.
Taking the Jeep Wed. morning to a local guy and having the front brakes done. I just don't feel like doing them this time.

My week of projects is shaping up to be eventful...

Break in fire in the stove burned out, kids are napping, wife finished making soup and start baking pumpkin bread.. So I go out to the garage. I had a list of fall tuneup chores the cars need. nothing big. My wifes car ('08 pilot we bought CPO) has a squeaky serpentine belt and so I swapped that out, and also it was due for air and cabin filters so I did those. Now here is where it got amusing. I'm working on it and I think, its an 08, actually an 07 build year and as far as I know its on the original battery. "wonder if I should put in a new one before it gets cold?" Well, finish up the filters and belt and go to start it up...

    drumroll...

Yup, just as I thought of it, battery died, from a half hour of the dome lights. Only read 11.8v resting.

One consolation prize about being in the village with a small lot and no wood storage space is that in addition to being walking distance from an old fashioned hardware I am walking distance to a nice CarQuest auto parts. Had a new battery in 10 minutes and the car is back on the road.

(and yes I checked, once the battery was in and car running im getting 14.xx volts so the charging system is good)

But it got me to thinking, I put a new battery in MY car (0'03) last time in 07 or 08. Go check that one... 12.1v resting. And I just drove it today.
    Next!

But first I promised to go with the mrs and the kids to the mall.
