I remember about, ohhhh 2000, I guess, my girlfriend and I use to sneak away up to Ottawa. The rate then was around CAN.$1.45=U.S.$1.00! It was great to go up and stay at The Westin down town near Parliament and walk(or skate in the winter) the canal. Then walk the market and check out some of the open air pub/restaraunts! Talk about an exchange rate!

I know. It goes back and forth over the years. Can be tough on communities close to the border. Right now some businesses here are seeing a decline in there Canadian customer traffic.

Yesterday I drove by a yard sale that had some old tools out by the road. I told my son we would stop by it on the way back. Nothing "panned" out for me on the return visit. There was a table with camping gear and a few mess kits. My son was really interested in buying one. Of course I didn't have two bucks on me as I usually don't carry cash. The woman said they would be there Sunday if we wanted to stop back.

As we are driving away he kept thinking how to get two dollars. He sees spare change in the map pockets in the truck. So about two miles down the road I pull over and he is climbing everywhere to find change. Yep, turn it around, he found it.

They were so surprised to see us so soon. I told them the story and they ended up giving him all the cooking gear on the table. They even asked us to take an American flag that belong to a vet. This will be the special display flag on national holidays as it is real nice quality. They were really nice folks.

Ahhhhhhh. Just finished breakfast with the family at Cracker Barrel. Now sitting in the car while they pick up a couple things they need at Kohl's. I'm a "little" full. It's a happy full though!

Windy and rainy here so inside jobs today and there are lots of them. Mainly bookkeeping. Campinspecter has already done two loads of laundry and the dogs teeth have been brushed so I had better get busy myself.
