Got the windows open and we are enjoying the morning temps while we do a little housework. Took the pups for a walk earlier, the stroll under the canopy in the woods was perfect. I anticipate the central air going on after lunch sometime, getting sticky too. Enjoy the labor day holiday FHC peeps...

I am noticing some positives and negatives of this grapple already. Mostly positives. But.....

One thing I have noticed though is that you have to be lined up good and straight coming into several logs. If not you can't get them to come up into the "trap". The hydraulics are not as strong as I would like to trap several log(s). You can here and feel when the hydraulics are maxed out.

Yeah you have to avoid the temptation to over due it. The kinder you are to it, the longer it will last. At the price of tractors it is wise to take care of what you have and what you can afford.

Here are some pictures from the garden. As Basod said, not really comparable to any thing. When freshly cut its slimy. The plant can prickly and itchy if your body doesn't like it.You want to cut when it's about 3-5 " long, otherwise it can get tough and seedy. I just love the stuff....:D

I found that too Gas. If I want to get hold of 3 logs for instance, I place 2 bottom logs against each other and set a 3rd on top in the middle of them, then reach around the bundle and grab them all.

Split and stacked a ~1/3cord of mixed junk off the power line clearing - some cedar in there which smelled nice:D
Sitting on the porch at 11am I figured WTH lets go kayaking, went down the spring fed creek ~6mi from the house 3hr float and we barely paddled water was clear, cold and flowing fast.
Only one small bluegill the bass would "mouth" the bait, almost ended up with a hook through my wrist again:doh:

When I said doesn't taste like anything - I meant really doesn't taste like anything, to me it's like a bland filler...yeah there is a subtle flavor(unlike any other vegetable) I just think it was something southern folks found took well to breading and frying so it became a staple "vegetable"

Now folks that blanch and pickle it correctly - can't be beat for a beer companion. It does have a place in a gumbo, probably the green vegetable thing

GF is making some purple hull peas - again another "vegetable" that only tastes good if cooked with bacon/fatback. I remember growing them on the farm and shipping them down to Boston, she loves them I just eat and say everything tasted great:D

Halfway to the beach. Sitting here in Tiger country and it isn't half as humid as it is back home. Indiana humidity is legit.

    Crappies, lotsa crappies.

Not quite as good as Saturday. Smallest one in that mess was 11 1/2".

But the storm parted and I got just a few sprinkles. Beautiful sun set. Hopped up on plane as the Northern lights came out and made it back to the landing without smacking a rock.

Caffeine time. And time for me to get breakfast ready for the family. It is 70 degrees this morning o_O at 6:30 and the fog is thick. We have had several mornings with fog over the last few weeks.

My honey and I got the pickup turned around this morning so the car hauler can load it easier. Pulled it back and forth with the quad. Starter's gone... :headbang: Battery is fine. Cleaned terminals, etc. Could always be worse... like at 30 below zero... ;)
