Long day today. Up fairly early today and after a 10 hour work day I took the 11 y.o. son and daughter and went to one of the Amish saw mills to make sure they still wanted White Ash logs. Yup. We are a go for this Saturday delivery. Then we went to the grocery store and did some shopping because Mom is not feeling well with a sinus infection. So by the time we got home and cooked dinner, ate, and cleaned everything up it was 8:30. Now with Tacos in the belly and horizontal in the chair I tired. Must  hold :BrianK:out :sherlock:and  surf :BrianK: F.H.C. longer. [IMG]

Canned another 8 quarts of salsa and a few pints of grape jelly. Went out to the shop for a bit and moved more stuff and put up some shelves. Went to work today too.

All I did was wake up, ride my motorcycle to work, for 9+ hours, then ride my bike back home. Ate dinner, and chilling....

After I found the connection manual, found out that the speaker wires are + and - orientated, went through and reconnected everything properly then took the two speakers that weren't working and changed places with those that were working and found out that wasn't the problem. Found the setup manual and read through to see if I could use Speakers B instead of Speakers A. FOUND the button that changes which set of speakers you want to use or turn them off altogether. I had turned them off altogether when I was playing with buttons WITHOUT the manual. :headbang: Wish I had read your post wildwest before I put myself through all that.

I actually am a great believer in manuals. Some are good and some are not. A good manual is worth its weight in gold as things usually make sense when you work through them in sequence. I really hope that the new software record keeping program that I will be learning to use in two weeks has good manuals!!!!

This was after we got the hallway painted, went out for lunch, came back and took all the taping down and cleaned and re-hung the pictures in the hallway. I was behind the entertainment center when Campinspecter said "you know, those stairs going to the basement really do look awful now the entry way is painted." He was right so we went down and got a litre (quart) of floor paint. I washed and taped the stairs and then went back to playing with the sound system while Campinspecter painted the stairs. They look awesome. There is even enough paint left for another coat of paint.

In the process of fixing the sound system, I got Campinspecter's wireless headphones working  and found out that the sound system has radio capabilities. So IF I can find the antennas that came with it, I might be able to get the radio working. Bonus!

Does this mean I lose my FHC respect because I like using manuals?

Just finished trouble shootin' a bathroom GFI outlet. You lectrishuns can appreciate. Under no load... it just tripped. Reset, trip. Figured time to replace the outlet. Put in new one. Trip... :zip: Reset, trip. Line off the outlet goes to the 2 lights, nothing else (I thought). I was looking for ground issues tripping the GFI, because the switches were off. Wondered if the light over the shower had lost a good ground. Pulled the light apart and ran a jumper ground. Trip... So... I'm staring at every connection thinking that this has happened with no apparent load causing it. Thinkin' my honey's not gonna like all of the wiring sticking out of the boxes in a bathroom with no power... starting to sweat now... Back downstairs for the 10th time and I notice in tiny letters away from the same breaker that says "bath"... also says "pole"... hmmmm. There's a pole way out back that has an outlet on it. I look into the double switch box in the bathroom, and sure enough, there's an extra black wire hooked on (those glasses really work). I disconnected it and... ahhhhh... let there be light... :BrianK: Underground line to that pole outlet has started to short I guess and tripped the original GFI, not anything in the bathroom.

 Good work figuring that out though Stinny. I remember one day I spent half a day wiring a three way switch until I got it right and could turn the light on from both entrances to the room. :picard:I new I should have the electricity to the electricians!

    Good job Stinny.
Gasifier I hate three way switches. Got one at my old house that I still have to go wire correctly. Probably be an all day job with me doing it.

troubleshooting that stuff can get frustrating, any chance you unwired the receptacle outside? wire nut the leads and check resistance between hot-neutral-ground.
I had one tripping on my kitchen counter and after opening the cover found out I actually had a roach problem - they like the warmth of receptacles, transformers for phones and what not.

We don't use that pole outlet anyway... so, once I put my eyeballs on and saw the extra black wire, I was pretty sure it had to be it. We had 2 old underground lines at the farm do the same thing.

I still say I dislike underground. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Oh. I need to run a power line to my detached garage now that I have it where I want it. Underground or overhead?

If you have height clearance, I think the sag has to be 15' up, I'd go overhead. Less hassle. Couple of cable reliefs on each end... hookrup mistah...
