Worked until 1030 then split and stacked a little elm...just to remind me : 1) How hot and humid it was 2) How elm is Satan's curse to wood hoarders everywhere!

Finished up replacing some really bad deck boards and put in a corner post for the handrail for my mother when she comes to visit.

Hopefully I can get the other corner post in at the bottom of the steps tomorrow...but mowing and picking out deck stain is also calling me. We shall see. :)

Just took on a load of Wild Blueberry pancakes and thick sliced bacon. Now caffeining while watching the today show. Headed over a little later to do some trap shooting @ the local club. Then back to split the rest of my oak. Everyone have a good safe day...........................

    Yeah, that will do it.

Tree frogs are pretty neat little critters. I remember one year mom's tropical plants that spend summers on the deck and get brought in for winter once had a tree frog hitchhike it's way inside on a plant. We heard him call all winter. Apparently he found enough flies and bugs to eat because I remember seeing him on a ficus tree as we moved it outside in late spring.

Sorry, you'll get no help from me on that front.

How about brown sugar and cracked black pepper oven roasted bacon? It's pretty much candied bacon.

    Mmmmm bacon...

    OK, that helped, right?

It's really good burning wood though, provided you don't have to hand split it.

Dead standing elm has gotten me by a few winters while I'm getting ahead in my stacks.

    :handshake:
Thanks a lot! :faint: We were at a place in Myrtle Beach a couple weeks ago that made fresh salt water taffy, that didn't help either. Lots of flavors. I left with a bag of about 5 lbs. mixed flavors I guess. That was half the store, made right there in front of you taffy. The other half was all kinds chocolate! They had everything! Including chocolate covered bacon! $1 a slice, ready to eat.:handshake:

That's seriously the best way to eat them. They somehow taste better that way.

True. Funny how they also taste good when they have been left at a nice cool room temperature, or where it is too warm and as you are pulling them out of the wrapper the chocolate is melting all over your fingers!:picard:Now I have a craving. You guys are a bad influence.
