My husbands great grandfather used to harvest porcini. We were given a jar once,. Able to sparingly use it in cooking for several years, but now he is gone, and the mushrooms are gone.

It's gonna be a nice one today. I have plans on returning the covered porch back to a porch today. In the fall I convert it to a place to store 3 cords of wood, I plastic in the sides and make it weather tight. I have an older couch that we use out there that gets covered, can't wait to sit on that again in the warm weather. Since this porch is screened in its a great place to enjoy the spring even if the bugs are out.
I also have about 1/2 cord of green ready to stack for the 16/17 season, this will finish the set up of my stacks to be ready for drying and I'll be done with things here at the house. I burned close to 5 cord this winter, I was about 1/2 cord shy of last years total using the Oslo, I'm happy about that.
Enjoy the days FHC peeps, it's gonna be a nice one in the NE!

    Stout.

We have nothing to do today. I mean, nothing planned or scheduled. Nowhere we gotta be.

No sure how to handle this.

I was going to ask what kind of baking that was going to be, but making stout makes sense.

I need to try to make my own beer sometime. I have fond memories of my brother's neighbor in Portland inviting us over for homebrews after we helped them unload heavy stuff from their van.

Good stuff, and I've never gotten so buzzed from a couple beers before that.

This happened on the road I take home from work on Friday late afternoon.
    http://m.wisn.com/news/child-adult-hurt-in-rollover-crash-in-germantown/32431922

Luckily it wasn't fatal, but there wasn't much thought going on by the van driver, and local authorities really dropped the ball as they should have routed traffic around after the accident. There were nearly several more accidents due to the lack of re routing. They just had a squad blocking both lanes of the road to the south of the accident. I, and many others had to turn around with no warning. The cop wasn't even in that squad blocking the road, or showing anything to the problems ahead. That happened over an hour before I was going through that area. If the accident was minutes before, ok, I get it, but there's at least 4 police stations within 10 minutes or less from that location. They could've called in for help.

I witnessed 2 near miss accidents that could've been as bad, or worse than the original accident due to a lack of rerouting.
