My wife and I went for another walk today. It's 64° out. Shorts and t shirt weather. The river has gone down quite a bit from yesterday's walk. Oh yeah, search and rescue from a couple towns had to rescue newbie teenage rafters from the river right down the road.

    https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sou...RmAjVvSeate7k6RnQ&sig2=y5tDy6fAKlF_KWJG7cudIQ

While I was grilling ribs last night, I heard a ton of sirens. This was about a mile from my house.

To top it off, last year a lone kid tried canoeing and camping during spring run off time and had to be rescued nearly in the same spot. Kids....:picard:

Nice work there thewoodlands? I was looking at my splitter today and thinking about when I'm going to start on the pile. Lots of stuff to do this time of year!

Gasifier , I'll start to move some Beech from what I call holding areas to the area for our better hardwood for this coming winter, it's been stacked since 2010.

I still have a few piles that never did get split, I just need to move 1.22 cord (4 NY Fake Cord) :) so I'll have some room for this newer stuff.

My new plans are for 3 cord of Cherry, 1.22 cord of Sugar & Beech if I can find it and 1.83 cord of shoulder season wood for a couple of years down the road.

We still have a chit load of Cherry down with some Maples, Sugar I hope. All the shoulder season wood is down too.

If I don't get some wood stack tomorrow, consider me lost to the recliner!

Sounds good. When I said "Nice work there thewoodlands, that question mark was suppose to be an exclamation point! LOFL Dammed typing on my phone. You are way ahead of me. I will start working on splitting my pile of wood for next year this coming weekend. Amongst the many other things I have to do. I need to drop more logs for my Amish customer as well. Hopefully I can get all my wood split and stacked by the end of April. But it may be the middle of May by the time I get it all done. Either way the Ash and Pine will dry nicely. I will try to sell more wood this fall as well, so I have to cut some more yet. I have quite a pile going though.

I raked the yard and grilled some chicken for a salad for dinner. I did some archery time with my kids with their new little compound bow. That took me back to being a kid again.

This warmer weather will chase me from the recliner, first some stacking and then some cutting.

I did get up top today so that will be fully opened up this week along with the lower part which holds the majority of the wood.

I know it stinks Rotti. I feel for ya man. But I suppose it could be much worse. What kind of cast do you have on your arm? I know your whole left (strong) arm must be immobile. Can you get around okay? As far as walking and up and down stairs and stuff? A little recliner time won't hurt ya too much, getting your body some rest time while it heals from that nasty injury. And hopefully in between you can get some walking exercise in to keep burning the calories. Stay positive friend.

Actually Gas, I've no got nothing on the arm. ROM is limited so I cant bend it enough to eat and the area where the cables are is still pretty tender. I start physio Tuesday. What really got to me today was with the fine weather, every friggen motorcycle in this county was out riding past the house. Bad case of spring fever today. Oh well, it'll slowly get better....................

No cast.o_O Holy cow! I thought for sure you would need it to be immobile and have it in a cast. I've never had an elbow injury though, so there Ya go. So the only limit to mobility of it is the pain? Dam. Course that is enough.

Limit is pain and ROM. Cannot fully straighten it out and cannot fully bend. If I try to flex my bicep, I get a sharp burning pain in the joint @ the back. Grip strength is getting better prob @ 60%. This Wednesday will be 3 weeks since the accident so I guess I really don't have a lot to beetch about.

Well yesterday turned out beautiful and we all got outside and got some work done. Wife and kids worked on the yard and I worked on the getting the camp road and the edge of the main road back in shape with the york rake on the tractor. Also did the parking areas at the house. Suppose to be 75ish today and sun, unfortunately we can't work on the yard today. :tears:

WHEW!! I though that I was the only one that did this around this site :emb: . The worst was last summer when taking down a small-medium rock maple by the driveway. It wasnt a large tree in comparison to what you guys take down all the time, but man it was a royal PITA to get the saw out. Guess I should get some wedges to have around for my clean up cutting around the edges of the yard.

WW, he did well. Got about 4 cord done before his back gave out. Is coming back this Friday to finish it up. To his credit, he gave it his all. Not many young lads with that kind of drive.

Had to take care of my dad this weekend so I took half a load of wood along to split. Not sure if that makes me part of the hoarder group or just crazy. Weekend went well, but lost my shades/protective glasses sometime during cutting. Wasn't really happy but it was my own darn fault. Drive the hour and 15 mins back to my house, go to unload what I split and the glasses were still on my bumper. Crazy!!

I posted this in another thread because I thought I was in this one, no wonder I lose stuff!!

Woke up to grey rainy skies this morning. Went for my walk and got soaked as it really started coming down after I was out there. Off to work this morning. Bright spot this week it's pay week.
