We lucked out last night with only a couple inches of snow. Look like melting weather the next 2 days and then some messy stuff Tue night.

    Here's hoping...

Just back from a 1 week journey out to Little Chute Wisconsin. It was approximately a 1200 mile journey each way. My wife was my copilot and a trailered my 2007 HD Electraglide Classic. The mission was to go to Fuel Moto USA to have Jaime Long who is one of the most noted engine builders/tuners in the country install a new 107" Big Bore kit, with all the needed periferrals such as larger throttle body, CNC ported and polished heads with high performance valves, directional lifters, Variable Pressure clutch to handle all the power, and V&H Pro Pipe 2-into-1 exhaust to suck out all the old air. Then Dyno Tune the engine, where the real magic dust gets sprinkled.

It snowed on the way out pretty heavily from the finger lakes region of upstate NY all the way to Buffalo and then southwest to Cleveland. Crazy driving and cars going off the road and into each other and the median. We saw two 18 wheelers on their sides on US90. Day two was Sunday and it was a nicer day. Took the Skyway Highway through Chicago, then up through Milwaukee and over to Little Chute, which is on Oshkosh Lake and a beautiful area about 25 miles South west of Green Bay Wisconsin.

I did this because riding the same bike for the last 8 years, I was getting a little bored. But, I have always found doing a nice upgrade made it feel like a new scooter all over again. The new comaprable Harleys are almost $28,000 and I wasn't going to buy one of those, only to need to start all over again to "make it mine" for another $3-$5K worth of farkles, and upgrades. So, I had always wanted to do one of these high performance upgrades, and I decided, I can't take it with me. Riding is my passion, I live a pretty modest simple life with riding being what brings me joy. So what the hey..

So they were just great out there. I didn't drive 1200 miles for a mediocre job, I could have done that myself.. these guys have done hundreds of these builds with incredible results.

On the way back on day 1 I decided to go around Chicago, rather than drive through it at rush hour (almost every hour) so we went through Madison and south to Peru IL and then east to Joliet, before we connected back to US 90. Again, blowing/blinding slippery snow and treacherous roads, but our final day back was clear and just very cold.

Nothing like a road trip to break up the winter. Next week the wife and I are taking off again to go to Savannah GA, Key West FLA, Fort Meyers to see a couple Red Sox spring training games, and then north to Nashville to visit a few Honky Tonks and then home. We're hoping by the time we get home the snow and cold will be mostly gone and maybe I can take this bad boy out for a ride. This thing shakes the ground at idle and sounds like a freight train.

Pics attached. We also visited Lambeau Field in Green Bay and had lunch at the Titletown Brewery one day. That was cool too. Also bought $60 worth of Simon's Cheese for gifts and such for our friends back home. I found the people in Wisconsin to be wonderful and I loved the area.

Good morning, a nice 6 inches or more of snow fell this weekend, now I get to move it all. I hope my little snow blower can handle it, the warm-ish temps yesterday had made it wet and heavy., the plow trucks are killin' me with the berms!! It's a tough job they have and they do it pretty well out here in our little town, there's only 3 of 'em on the maintenance crew and they are pals of mine.. the bastards, I'd bet they're giggling when they tilt the plow before coming my way!!
That ice dam business on the roof has always been dealt with by using generous amounts of salt around here, so far, no ill effects to the shingles or weed beds around the house...

Unfortunately unless you've got headphones one, the sound doesn't do it justice.. and it helps to feel the ground shake a bit as it sits there and lopes on the 777 cams.

Will you have to use special fuel now? Or can it still be pump gas?
Glad you had a safe trip while you were behind the "cheddar curtain"!
We found a cheese shop that we frequent also when we are down there. But....the best curds we ever had-hands down- were from the Westby creamery (in Westby Wi, of course). I can tell you I didn't buy enough of them!

I bought curds too! I had never heard of them and their "squecky" characteristics until going out there. Geezum, I went out there to have the bike worked on and ended up buying $57 worth of cheese.

The bike runs fine on 91/10%ethanol gas. Thats part of the magic of their tune capabilities out there. Lower than 91 you'll get some detonation. But these run fine on 91. It has 10.5 compression but higher can cause issues too.

I don't think so, because she doesn't ride anymore. She says "I grew up, and you didn't". But if she did ride with me.. she might need better hearing proection. :)

Get a rear view of the pipe.

Oldhippie, What was the HP and tq of the original motor? You have to love the tq that v twins put out. That's why I ride one, albeit different than a Harley in pretty much every way.

Glad you had fun in Wisconsin. Even if you are not a fan of the Packers, Lambeau field is one of the few must see sports venues in the world.

So, you've discovered fresh squeaky curds. Good stuff. Yooperdave is correct, the best curds are from Westby.

My BIL has to go to Eat Claire quite a bit for work and says the curds are awesome. We don't have them down here.

Westby curds, according to the gal in the creamery store, are best before they are refrigerated and of course, the fresher the better. We got some that were made a couple days earlier and we were both laughing at how loud they were!!
Found this on youtube...don't know where he's from, but hes got the "sound bite" down good! (Like that one, WW?)

When we got there they immediately did a pre-build dyno, as they always do, and it is on the dyno chart I supplied. The pre-build was 61hp/87tq the after was 113hp/120tq. They immediately found that I had a failing fuel-pump that was unable to deliver enough fuel to the pre-build engine at anything north of 3500rpm. We sourced and installed all new fuel-pump parts, regulater, filter and lines. I did the running and picked up the parts at Doc's HD in Shawano. I knew I had a issue when I got there as my Powervision fuel management system seemed to be in a endless loop calling for more fuel at WOT, I just couldn't find the problem without a dyno. These guys found it in 5 minutes. :)

We had great food at Titletown Depot Brewery and then we went over to Lambeau field to look around. We went to Simon's Cheese factory in LittlwChute. I'm eating curds as I type. Got to respect the amazing heritage of the Green Bay Packers, we're Boston fans, we respect all good sports teams, not just ours.

That was squeaky cheese. I have never had cheese curds. Don't think I would find them around here. I will have to check down in communities that have cheese processing plants. And yes, I know you were talking to WildWest.
