Have a few Harbor Freight crescent wrenches floating around at work. I've explained that they can be used on both metric and SAE sized hardware so long as you use the correct side of the wrench. One side says "Pittsburgh" for SAE stuff and the other says "China" and should be used for the metric sizes. :picard:

I figured out why the dining roof leak started up again (it has stopped again). In addition to the ice at the edge of the roof there was another dam a good 10 feet up in the valley under the snow pack.

I acquired a new longer 21ft rake so that I dont need to keep borrowing my neighbors, and using this got the snow removed all the way up to the peak. I also used the hatchet an broke up the ice down to the shingles in a couple 2 foot wide sections so it could drain (chopping down till there is a couple inches then use the back of the blade to fracture whats left like a hammer so as not to damage shingles).

Hopefully just some patching and a paint job will fix the ceiling. I'm going to be doing a lot of work up in the attic on the venting and air sealing next summer. there is 6 inches of cellulose on top of fiberglass batts up there so its not lack of insulation.......

Wanted to go cut wood today but momma nature wasn't cooperating. Snow, rain, ice. So here's my morning project. 20150301_131328.jpg

And BTW, if you want to move a bit of that ice off the edge, I have found that using a 4 pd sledge (a blunt heavier hammer) striking inbetween the rafters at the eaves creates enough vibration to take some serious chunks off without harming the shingles. Good luck

And, after all the shoveling you've done this winter, you shovel some more "fun" with the kids. Cool...

Just got the generator to exercise it a bit while I'm splitting wood for a bit. To nice outside not to be out in the snowy slush.

Took the badger dog to the dog park. He had a great time. Now I need to unload the trailer and stack the wood.

Na. I'm more original than that and better looking than Gibson. I threw this together the other day when I was over in Russia and wanted to get home in a different fashion. It took me a little longer, but I made it.
