Hang in there buddy. You're doing all that can be done with your roof until warmer weather arrives... and it will arrive.

Awesome job on the tables. I can see why you don't want to let them go. Quite an unique design.

I'll be busy this spring getting my supply of wood back up to par... I think I just dropped another ranking on the Hoarders level... Just sold another cord to my neighbor.

The rain held off out my way, snow is still falling. I shouldn't speak too soon either, this isn't over yet.
Small project in the kitchen for today, removing some cracked tiles and replacing them.
Prepping a wall I plastered 2 weeks ago for some kitchen cabinets. A nice warm day indoors.

Just finished the first part of the plowing, I did from the road in before the sleds get going. Next up is roof raking above the garage door an plow that away with the rhino.

After that we'll push more wood in (five loads total) of ironwood and more beech, once March comes in we'll start on what Cherry we have left.

Cherry left - 1.22 cord or 4 NY face cord

Hemlock left - .61 of a cord or 2 NY face cord

    Plenty of inventory left.

Well, things are looking better today. Leak is still there but didnt get any worse overnight. I have a 2 gallon bucket out and only got 2 inches of water in 10 hours so its manageable.

This morning I wrapped up and submitted our taxes. Got just enough of a refund to pay the property tax on both cars due to the town next month. works for me

Went out of town with the wife for the weekend. I knew I should have taken the key out of my tractor. In laws taking care of the kids. I hope my FIL doesn't decide to clean my driveway.:zip:

technically its not a "property" tax, its an annual excise tax on every vehicle that you own registered to drive on public roads. Some other states do it at the state level and roll it into the annual registration fees, but in Massachusetts its handled separately and billed directly from the town once a year.

The tax is calculated on an accelerated depreciated schedule at something like 2 or 3%. So the year you buy the car they charge you 2% of 90% of [edit] new price, then the second year its based on 60% , then 40%, then 10%. So you pay a lot the first couple years but by the time a car is 4 year years old your annual bill drops to ~ $50 and then stays there for the life you own the car.

Since I bought a brand new truck last year I ended up owing like $400 for both vehicles (my new truck and my wife's 7 year old Honda Pilot)... prior year we owed ~ $120 for both vehicles.

Is there a sales tax on vehicle purchases as well? Also does Mass. have a state gas tax per gallon?

Thanks, WW. I felt better throughout the day, but forgot to take some aspirin when we left, I thought I would need to leave early and we did...1:00 a.m.!!!! Only had one glass of medicine on site-wise decision.

Rotti, (and all others), you would have been more than welcome. $6 at the door and $5 in advance for live music (4hours). The band only took two breaks the whole night.

The grand prize was $250 with two gas cards given away for 2nd and 3rd. You qualified for these by just buying an entry to the dance.

There were also five tables and one display rack of prizes that you bought tickets for and placed into corresponding containers for whatever prizes you were interested in. Must've been 3-4 dozen gift certificats alone.

A thinking man would have brought along his camera to show some of the goodies!

What? In addition to paying tax (license/registration), you have to pay a second tax?????

    Gotta love it
