Any delay from the person in front of you while waiting at a red light and it turns green, almost guaranteed they're playing on their phone! I just can't believe how many older people I see playing on one while driving.

Just found out that Honda makes mouse repellent electrical tape...I suggest they use it in the manufacturing process, not just as a repair option! :hair: Screenshot_20260127-192944.png

They came out with that after creating the yummy wire that mice love a decade or more ago. Wish everyone would wrap wires with something like that!

If you get behind me, and I don't go when the light turns green, I certainly am not on my phone - not even hands free. I have a hard enough time just concentrating on driving and listening to the radio - LOL.

I'll start looking at buildings or gardens or people and what not. I don't have the attention span to just stare at the light until it finally decides to let me go.

Not a whole bunch today. Wife arrived home from her delay out west, only to get hung up mostly on the driveway. I looked out and saw her shoveling under her car and a spot in the drive. I mentioned to her the temperature will be nearly twenty warmer in three hours, but sh3 persisted. The gentleman in me said to go help or do it all, but the jerk in me said “ she want to do that in minus 1, instead of +18, knock yourself out.

later i shoveled a path from the road to my neighbor’s stoop, so his song didnt have to do an Irish jig in the deep stuff, when he checked on him. Tried to get my little Kubota out and do some snow moving, but it was too deep to get anywhere.

It's true. The jacketing that was used was apparently delicious to mice. What a poorly thought out choice, especially for wiring power sports equipment.

The way I understand it, the insulation was soybean based.

Talked to an at&t guy a few years ago when fiber optic was going through. He said they were having problems with squirrels chewing through the fiber because the insulation on that was soybean based too.

You would think one industry would learn from the other..... but that doesn't seem like the case..

Went and picked up a new garage door opener for the shop today, but they didn't have the extension kit for 8' foot doors in stock. I found one on Ebay that should be here in a few days.

I guess this evening's project will be some ATV maintenance. She's lived a hard life and needs some love. Hard to believe I have over 10K miles on that thing.

Yeah the eco-based wire insulation was supposed to be "green", recyclable or decomposable or both.
There are some scents that vermin will avoid, but they are annoying to people as well.

Peppermint oil, Rosemary oil, lavender oil. All these vermin hate, but it smells great to people. I've been using pouches and spray with these essential oils on them in boats and campers and it works well and smells awesome.

Mothballs were the old alternative that smell horribly.

Gonna work on training these to eat from my hand. Been feeding em for maybe 2 weeks and got within 20-30ft today before they ran off maybe 20ft and waited for me to dump the corn.

I found that you have more success if you don't stand erect. Less intimidating to them if you are in a "take a knee" sort of stance.

And speak in a quiet, calm, easy toned voice and move slowly. I bet you know all this anyway.

A friend of mine did all this with success while his lab laid watching the whole time. The deer eventually accepted the dog and would go up to him and visa-versa also.

6 or so years ago, a doe was road killed and left behind 2 desperate young fawns. Because of their hunger and inexperience, they were very easy to get close to. Yeah, they made it.........until winter anyway.
