What TrinitySouth99 hasn't mentioned either is the state of the roads in the province. A big province with lots of road, adverse weather conditions and a small populace makes it very difficult to stay on top of road maintenance costs. So the roads suffer and so do the vehicles. We are now seeing that at our end of the island as there isn't enough money spent on road maintenance for our population base.

There's no difference in registration fee here for a newer vehicle, not worth talking about anyway.
I've checked on insurance and it's not a big difference vs full coverage on my truck (I don't need full coverage on my truck at her age, but I can accept that difference)

yes, and I've used it before, but as the old saying goes about the ounce of prevention vs the pound of cure.
It's an uphill battle once the process has started, at least once it's gotten bad enough. It might slow it down but it doesn't stop it dead in it's tracks as some people would tell you. Speaking from experience.

The nice thing about the new vehicle is, If you maintain it properly from day one, you'll have a much better chance of keeping it longer vs trying to reverse someone else's neglect. And I'll freely admit I didn't worry too much about my truck at first, because I didn't plan to keep her for a super long time.

I'm not saying you're completely wrong by any means. But I've had a few bad experiences trying to keep/fix older vehicles in the past, so I'm a little nervous about it now. And I won't lie, I'm factoring in that the new truck would just plain be nice to have. :D

Also makes it easy to knock a truck out of alignment - though I don't think I've done that in this case.

Mind you, I don't have to travel too many overly rough roads on a regular basis, though I run into a few when traveling.

Well, the much anticipated opening of the first Rural King in our area is upon us. Haven’t been there yet but going soon. Rumor is they have free coffee and popcorn? Will specifically see what the bar oil price is too:rofl:
