Its all about the dew point, not the actual humidity level. Anything above 55 or so starts feeling sticky. 60 and higher its downright miserable.

I got almost 3/4 of the siding stripped off the shop last night and this morning and hauled off to the scrap yard. A whopping $135 in scrap for a whole pickup load of aluminum. I'm going to try to get the rest of the siding off, gutters off, and siding off this evening.

After that I need to notch the slab to get the underground boiler line into the building and remove the old masonry chimney. I'm letting the Amish guys take it from there, except for wiring some lights.

Exactly. 91% humidity at 68* isn't bad at all. A 75* dewpoint makes you feel like you are drowning.

100%. Its awful. We were in the low 70's for dew point yesterday and mid 80's. Ya melt just standing in the shade.

All set after day 1. I golfed ok. I started hitting a lot better on the last 9 holes. Go figure, no practice, and see what happens? We ended up at par.

Day 1 of the weekend being in the afternoon was really really nice. Had a brief rain shower, and the storms went around the lake we were on. I deployed the bimini, and it kept us warm and dry.

The lake is really warming up. No more shock when you first get in anymore.

I just backed the truck into the driveway and left the boat hooked up to my truck. I just finished getting the covers on the boat. It might rain here in a couple of minutes.

We can sleep in and get to the lake about noon. Saturday will be a mow the lawn am day, before it gets too hot.

Got the rest of the metal off the shop and ready to take in tomorrow. I'm going to try to get the chimney taken down below the roof line before work tomorrow AM.

I need to get all this done before the 90s get here this weekend and all next week.

Dewpoint calculations work off the RH. Yesterday morning's 91% humidity at 68F = 65* dewpoint. This morning I'm at 72* and 83% humidity = 66* dewpoint. I rounded both those numbers down.

I'll agree that these aren't horrid examples, and I wasn't trying to "compete" with anyone's current numbers. I was just saying that it was in the sticky zone and makes it feel much warmer outside than inside (even though the air temp is much warmer inside). Yesterday afternoon it got into the "bad trying to breathe" area for a while as some storms passed by, but skirted my town so no actual rain.

The lawn is beginning to look a bit crispy in some spots. Every time rain (or storms) is forecasted, it misses us! Yesterday/last night was no exception.

Missed us by about 10 miles.....

It was actually pretty nice out this am. Not hot or sticky and cloudy. It had to have rained a little last night. The grass was wet this am when I checked on the garden. All good there. Now it's lightly raining. We'll head out to the lake after this rain clears out about 11 ish.

I'm talking my friend through fixing his ski boat that just started running a bit rough. He wanted to start messing with the carb. I told him absolutely not to touch the carb. That's the last step and one not to go to especially if you don't understand a carb. It's a Holley 4160 vacuum secondary 4 barrel. I told him look at the obvious stuff, ignition based first. It ran great above idle, which tells me it's spark related. It ends up I he had some corrosion/ duty terminals on the inside of the distributor cap. He cleaned up the corrosion and it already tested better running in the driveway. He'll join us this afternoon. He ordered a new cap and rotor, but will run it with the cleaned terminals today until the new parts arrive.

I'll make up a new batch of bloody Marys for this weekend.

Got the old masonry chimney on the shop removed below the bottom chord of the trusses this morning. It was in real bad shape...good riddance. After that I hauled another load of scrap and collected my $106.

I tried to notch the slab with a hammer drill and sledge hammer but was denied. I'm going to have to borrow a concrete saw because it is a lot thicker than I expected.

Heat starts tomorrow...heat advisories already posted...heat index of 105-110 until Wednesday.

Day 2 of boating and outdoors activities today. I took a look at my friends supra ski boat on the lake. The idle was pretty low. Like 300 rpm. I upped it to 500-550 rpm or so at idle. He says it didn't stall out after I did that. The distributor cap and rotor arrived today for him, so he'll swap that out, and test it on Sunday with us

Ok. It's already got outside. Going to mow the lawn now before it gets stupid hot.

The wind is helping to cool off a little. It will really help once I'm sweating and evaporative cooling really kicks in

Got the garden back under control and the raspberries picked and pruned this morning. Need to dig through the slab stacks and find a board for a bar top I'm making for my sister. I hope I don't sweat myself inside out in this weather.
