Exactly; here cats outside die. Fishercats, foxes, coy dogs and birds. I understand its cycle of life.
That’s the part I want to keep in the woods. The problem of 1,000 acres behind you of woods farm land.. all choices have a cost.. I’ll pay mine.

It's unbelievably humid outside this morning. Not often you get a heat index above ambient in the 70's.

I would never kill a snake. I know there value/worth. Not enough of them. But if too close to house/barn I catch them and bring them further out on the property and let them go.

Our first cat was eaten at about a year old in 1994/5 ( VERY sad story, think it was owl then coyotes....).
Since then two indoor only cats. First 15 years and this one is 8 years old. Husband and I love all animals but he digs cats and I'm more into dogs, thus both. Except 9 (10) dogs and 2 cats LOLOLOL!

Well since I have allergies to most cats; and my beautiful bride needs a dog in her life. We have dog(s) an occasional rabbit small animal inside house. I also have larger breed dogs not for my protection but so they are less prey opportunities plus make girls feel safe.

I agree Gasifier I try to leave all animals alone; unless they get aggressive or mess with my world example beavers in culvert

A big round of storms just came through and squeezed all the moisture out of the atmosphere. We had lightning hit well within 100 yards of the house.

Forecast for this Saturday and Sunday is mid 90's with dew points in the mid 70's making it feel like 104*. That sounds like a church on Sunday morning and staying in the rest of the weekend.

I'm not fond of small breeds, med/large is my style, and not a breed that needs a professional groomer.

Saturday is going to be ridiculously hot and steamy.

Tomorrow our company has off for Juneteenth day, so a bunch of us work people are going golfing in the AM but we will be done and I'll be home about noonish, and then we'll go out in the boat. Then boating Friday because I took Friday off, Saturday we have a graduation party, my friends son got into West Point they got a taco truck to cater. And Sunday will be a boat day again.

I'll need to water the garden probably Saturday.

You will need three days to recuperate from the boating/drinking. That is “older man” hangover stuff right there! Even if you don’t drink anything you will be tired from those 4 days! :faint:Stay hydrated and covered from the sun our friend.:binoculars:Have fun!

Lol. I just took a power nap for about 2 hours. My group tee time is early.

Boating plus sun plus golf is a lot. Throw a grad party and more boating and sun in there and yeah. It will be a lot. The boat is big enough to take a power nap in. I'm sure I'll do that and other naps when I can.

My wife got stocked up on Gatorade today, I'll remember to grab some for tomorrow.

Welcome to the Northeast - LOL

68* outside right now with 91% humidity. House is much warmer without as much humidity ("display is the inside temp in the pic below).

    upload_2025-6-19_3-0-31.png

TWC says the "feels like" temp is still 68*, even at a slightly higher humidity reading. Guess which actually feels cooler? I don't have any fans or anything going, so it isn't because of air movement either.

    upload_2025-6-19_2-53-15.png

Then again, Accuweather says the real feel is 72* (when I expand the page it shows a higher humidity at 98%, but you lose the real feel temp). Their readings may be more towards the river, like I am, and there is slight fog.

    upload_2025-6-19_2-57-12.png

Was that way yesterday too. Today it's supposed to get in the high 80's, and the heat index is supposed to be mid 90's to even 100+ in some parts of the state. Then storms this evening will bring down the humidity and temps for one day before ramping up for an expected heat wave.
