Bike is at our local shop now. Said painted parts could be 6-8 week lead time. But they had this beautiful 2025 Road Glide CVO on the floor. Wife said not a chance in hell today. 20250604_115024.jpg 20250604_115042.jpg 20250604_115013.jpg

Nah. Probably more of a suggestion. Maybe a recommendation, at most.

Good to hear you are okay. The bike can be fixed. Has the soreness hit yet?

Does motorcycle insurance cover repair for accidents like this?

Glad you are relatively okay amd the bike is fixable. Hope you were able to save the meat, or give it to someone in need.

Yes, motorcycle insurance is just like auto insurance, except sometimes more expensive. Insurance would be the ones to "total" it if it became to expensive to fix. Probably the main decider would be if the frame were bent.

Yes, frame damage is an automatic total.
I had a Honda Goldwing that I sold to a buddy...he got ran off the road by someone passing on a hill, on the way home! There was a small tab broke off the frame where the crash bars mount so they called it a total loss (even though the bike didn't look bad at all) I can't remember if he talked them into fixing it, or he bought it back after the total and fixed it (he was high pressure boiler welder by trade) but it got fixed and he put well over another 100k miles on it, before selling it to his boss, which last I heard is still riding it, 20 years later

A few decades ago.......(story time!)..........when everyone under the sun wanted a Harley.....

I was on the way home during the evening. I passed a guy on a harley. We were both heading into the sunset. About a mile after passing him, 2 deer right on the side of the road decided they were entitled to the blacktop more so than us tax paying users.

I tapped my brake lights repeatedly, but the biker didn't see them and ended up hitting both of them as they crossed in front of him.

I whipped a U-turn immediately and saw him laying motionless right on the center line, bike was on the shoulder. It was a very fast but short drive to get to him and I remember repeating the whole while it took to get to him "Please don't be dead.....Please don't be dead..."

He wasn't and moved before I came to a stop. "Thank you!"

Helped him off the road, shut the key off on the bike, which turned out to be a brand new dyna wide glide.....and stayed with him until his friends showed up. This was before cell phones. Sore leg and boot was ripped open from impact.

Both deer killed and received proper "blessings" (and kicks) from biker.
