Nothing in that one that says Home. Looks way too commercial.

I see where you're coming from, but I've seen houses that turned me off a lot more. Could have done worse if you ask me. But, I would make a lot of changes if I had the million to pay for it, and another few hundred thousand to modify it. I'd probably make a go of turning it into a small inn. Too big for a house, unless half was turned into a workshop.

I do like the surroundings a lot more than the building itself. If it wasn't for that, I might not have given it a second glance.

Storms rolled through Sunday evening. No trees down around the farm, be it knocked a bunch down a few miles east. Went from a warm day to pretty cold, quickly.
Another week if cool weather so i cut and pulled three white oak limbs from a treetop and added thrm to the woodshed, which is low.
Had lunch with three ROMEOs where conversation went to the basketball tournaments. and Indiana’s new coach , which saw every present player transfer out. Now its the coach and his son. Here is hoping.

That's beautiful! It's hard to comprehend that's worth a million after seeing all the reasonably priced houses you have shown us that are also on beautiful locations. I love that old woodwork.

Those X per square mile maps of country have similar colors as that’s where most people are

The other half could be undomesticated? I've ridden horses like that.

Look at it this way. If you're paying close to 1 1/2 million, it better not need any changes.

Before I bought this place, I found myself compromising while looking at different houses. I always viewed them with 99 lbs and asked her opinion.

"It needs this, this and this.....you wanted one with........."

My reply was always "I can do that myself; I can add that later; etc."

She would always say "You're paying $XXX,XXX for a place and it doesn't even have what you want? And then you have to spend even more on it to change it to what you want? Doesn't sound right."

Remembering back to some of the places I looked at, now I just shake my head and am grateful that the bid wasn't accepted!

Supposed to get a ton of rain and maybe some severe storms tomorrow through the weekend. I got up this morning and moved as much dirt as I could with the tractor so I can form the apron for the barn before the ground turns to soup. Not sure when I'll be able to pour concrete yet, but I figured if I get the forms set I can backfill and get some grass growing out there ASAP. Even if I tear something up later I'd rather have some grass growing than none at all.

Need to hook up the trailer and go get some 16' lumber for forms and some 20' sticks of rebar. Maybe this evening.

Weather is crap so I am pretty much cleaning up between storms of freezing rain, rain, and snow. Had to order a sump pump to keep the water from building up where I stack my wood.

No fun at all. But on the flip side it gives me time to get some online work done before processing season really kicks off.

Fair enough, when I say stuff like that I'm usually speaking in terms of if I was a billionaire with money to burn and not worry about it. As it stands, I can't even dream of buying that place, so it's all theoretical.

In the real world, I agree and would think the same way, but I suppose there are factors which would motivate an exception. I really don't see a whole lot of places that I wouldn't want to make at least a few changes to, which is why I'd be better off just getting an empty lot, or a cheap fixer upper so I could more or less make it whatever I want.

Too bad it wasn't a dilapidated safety hazard and being sold for land value. I'd level it and build a cozy little cape cod cabin. Still assuming I had money enough for that price, of course.

My house hunt was 20 years ago; I was raising my 2 & 4 year old high energy nephews. My real estate agent thought I was :loco:

I wanted longest driveway possible (not shared or ROW) no HOA at minimum 3 bedrooms and full and 1/2 bath and if not 2 car garage then room to build one, in certain towns with school choice.

bought home in bidding war out of foreclosure.
    Bones were good needed everything

    plumbing, heating, roofs, windows, electrical
2 30 yard dumpster full in yard.. kept most people wanting turn key at bay.. it was filthy

it’s been fun but not real fun
Several prominent members have been here

    I would not sell it
