It is usually 2-3 weeks into April for that to happen here.

I have already mowed the lawn twice and it needs it again. Trick is getting it dry enough to mow.

Holy crap I've got a lot of stuff going on right now. After this week I need to try to slow things down a little.

Annual Maintenance time on equipment here yesterday. Routine tasks on JD X720 with 62” deck (that d*** thing has gained 500 lbs since last year):hair:. What should have been a 3 hour job at most has turned into a 3 day job. The PTO shaft that connects to the mower deck would not release at the collar. Seemed it was just jammed up, even with lots of PB Blaster. Had to actually bend a retaining washer from the front of it and fish out the ball bearings in the guts to get it off. All while lying on back on the ground. Thankfully oldest son came over to help out or I may still be under there. Finally got the quick release all apart and have parts coming to fix. Lesson learned is to remove and spray it out every year with brake fluid or something and relube internals real well. Thing is it would move to the release point just everything bound up inside so would not pull from splined shaft. Well, still have the deck to clean out and inspect and sharpen or replace blades and replace mower deck belt. Did I say that this deck is heavy?:zip:

Good news is that oil and filter is changed and everything else lubed, air filter changed but “stealership” sent the wrong fuel filter so that’s for another day!

Now to start on the JD 5420……It will be a walk in the park by comparison. Oops, may have just jinxed myself!!

    Rant over, thanks for listening.

Husband wants a cordless commercial food processor for his Birthday. They only make household choppers cordless. He burned out his cordless KitchAid, any suggestions?

My ground cleared off again in the last couple of days. Starting late tonight more snow/ice/sleet/freezing rain. They say it will turn to pure rain sometime Sunday and that will go thru until Monday night. They said something similar for the storm last week, but instead my area had a mixed bag of wintry cr*p for the entire time because the warm air they were expecting never got here.

Grass won't need mowed for a while here either. I don't keep stats on mowing, but I'm pretty sure I've never mowed before sometime in May.

I did see some of the early spring bulbs starting to show tips below the leaf cover yesterday.

I finally got out on Wednesday. My wife and I attended the annual Travis Mills Foundation's Vietnam Era Veterans Breakfast at the Augusta Civic Center. It was very well attended. Good speakers and Travis himself. Many booths set up with offering to the veterans. While exhausting, the event was well worth it. Very meaningful. There is a lot of camaraderie at these events

I like Winter in VT. I absolutely hate the transition out of Winter. It usually starts in early March and progresses and regresses several times until at least the middle of April. Sometimes referred to as Mud season.

Well deserved and long overdue. :handshake:

The view of veterans sure has changed from how it was back in the late 60's/early 70's. Shameful!

I've heard of million dollar views, and this former church does have an asking price exceeding 1 million. It's on 3 acres surrounded by protected land, and I must say it is a nice place. I would do dormers with regular windows instead of those skylights, however.
