I used the localist one to me for a few months after i ditched AccuWeather. They were hit or miss at best. In their defense, in this area i can drive 15-20 min in any direction and the weather can be different. Snow predictions are the worst.

Truethfully the main thing i need it for is rain predictions during dirt bike season. Other than that it would just be nice to know.

The one that gets me is when they predicted a high temp for the day or rain % for the whole day. Then I go into the hour by hour forecast and none of the temps match the predicted high and precipitation % doesn't match anywhere either. :hair:

Example: daily forecasted high is 75 with a 60% chance of rain. The highest hour by hour temp would show 73 and the highest chance of rain 50%. They can't even agree with themselves most times from what I've seen.

It's a rough guideline, nothing more, sometimes less.

This was John. He was the captain of a fishing boat which recently capsized, and he did not survive the incident.

Very sad. Rest in peace, Captain John.

My wife and i spent a few hours yesterday starting to paint the balusters in our railing. Took 2 coats for complete coverage. The black looks amazing compared to the original white. IMG_20250209_095100836.jpg

IRRC this is from the house built next to ours after selling. WWW caught one in the same spot in the +/- 94'! Got home late from Christmas Eve, took over an hour in a blizzard, let the dogs out to potty, WWW went for wood in front, wind had vibrated the porch light loose. Walked back to screw it back in and that revealed the mountain lion checking out him and our doggies.

Another time the next winter I was leaving for night college class and felt a chill up my spine, went to my car and realized keys were locked inside  Never made it so fast around the house, over the 5' fence and up the dog ramp to the doggie door! Next day the neighbor above us said there was a mountain lion walking across his wrap around deck.

This video in the same place shows 3 adults together, wow!
