Can we adapt fast enough to survive?

Snowing in Tennessee....

 

It's been snowing here all day. Got a fresh 4" on top of the 6" or so that was left from the last round. One last thing to do for work and then I may go get the tractor out and move a little snow.

 

sitting in the upstairs sunroom past couple hours. Snow it fat and heavy. Made a run to RK for more sunflower seeds. The birds have been ravenous all day. Noticed most of the customers had a large bag of seed like me.

County closed offices at 2:00 so wife crawled home safe and sound.

 

Are those sunflower seeds a welcome change from bread and milk?

 

I found out that she's had problems with this wheel/ tire losing air since 2022. Replacement wheel arrived yesterday. She is all set for taking her sister, my aunt, to and from her medical appointment on Monday.

 

I hired a new buyer a week ago, and due to new and more projects, and me being needed to do so much more, it looks like we'll open up another job req. Had some changes way at the top, almost all the way up, but it'll be a good thing, especially for me.

 

Oh yeah, I won my big money league fantasy football League this year, and I've been paid half my winnings already. The other half I'm supposed to get any day. That's a nice surprise, and a long season that made it happen

 

Congrats on being in position to take advantage of new opportunities at your workplace!

A little extra moolah from the FFL is nice too.

Yeah, managers get more salary depending on the number of employees they have report to them, so, that'll happen too with 1 more reporting than last year and another on top of that shortly.
It's an interesting time, that's for sure. Some companies are starting to hold back, or downsizing, but we're not. Well in a way we are, but it's from up top.

 

Caffeine! Going to sit and visit with Mom for 4 hours this morning. Not sure what will happen after that. Day off. Go with the flow.

 

Oh. Forgot. Football will be involved. I can workout in the basement while I watch on the TV. GO BILLS!

Got the walls framed

 

Hope you can avoid frost heaving with those post pads or whatever they're called. Why didn't you choose to have the addition match the whole side of the shed?

I hope not, but I don't think I should have too much trouble there. My house's footings aren't as deep as they "should" be, and they've lasted a long time with no damage I can see. I'd like to do a better foundation, but that's a dream for the future.


I guess mostly visual preference, and a little material savings. It'll replace the small blue shed in front of the newer one, which has been mom's craft shed since she moved in with me. Slightly smaller floor footage, but more height. When this piece is dried in and her stuff is swapped over, I'll use the older shed to save materials until I do the big roof project on the house this summer, then I'll either move it or get rid of it.

 

An illegal with a blowtorch was arrested in the wildfire area.
