When I was in sales there were a lot of accounts I saw every week/biweekly, many were office enviroments with many women, a few were mfg or other with many men. Women were mostly openly, and all ran to offer kindess. I've seen many men grieve openly, some men though, I was friendly familiar face, kind of like a kind stranger t(hat won't share), and I can't count how many times I've landed alone with a man who spilled emotions to me (safe stranger). But not openly. Always exceptions though.

I have words of applause for women, or men, who do so for the right reasons.

She did it for me for many years.

We had an EXCELLENT day on the road today. I think I'm too exhausted to process my pictures tonight, but man, what a beautiful day in a beautiful bay.

Great attitude! 15 years ago as my mother was stage 4 cancer; I spent her last 6 months helping my father with her end of life care. Basically moved back into their home. Only worked on Sunday when other siblings could fill in.
    Best decision I made.

Sorry to hear you had to do it though. Hard way to go. Apart from the sudden shock to their family and friends, it's nice (as death can be) when people can go suddenly with no suffering.

O ring leaking on my truck. Leaking antifreeze from the Y pipe. Looks easy to fix. It's apparently A very common problem, more like a standard preventative maintenance thing. The timing of it sucks, but I have parts on the way from Amazon. I'll put antifreeze in it to fill out up enough to drive to work until parts arrive and I can fix it. Should be a couple hour fix in my garage.

I've been off the forum for months. I've been doing nothing for 5 days and just figured out my password.

6 months ago I went to ER for abdominal pain that ended up being a kidney stone. 5 moths ago I got a new job as a professor at a University. A week before I started my new job I had to schedule surgery to remove the kidney stone because I didn't pass it after 41 days. Also was diagnosed with kidney cancer that was discovered during kidney stone scans. Started new job in August. Kidney stone surgery was first day of class. Ended up in hospital for 3 days the next week due to severe kidney infection where I was almost in sepsis. Get home and schedule initial surgical oncologists visit. Continue teaching senior engineering students while preparing for surgery. Pre-op scan and blood was Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Gave students finals a week early. University course system went down right after my finals. Surgery was Monday December 9th with 5am check-in. Dr removed tumor and part of kidney. Since then I have done nothing. I am home now and eat small meals, drink a lot of water, use the restroom, take pills, and sleep. No work for 6 weeks then post op follow up, evaluation, and tumor report results to plan next step of treatment.

Before surgery I kept trying to fix my log splitter and finally got it running to split a cord of oak. The return line blew off the splitter around the job change/cancer diagnosis. Drained old remaining oil out because the drain plug has leaked since I got it. Hydro oil is over 7 years old and had pulled water. Discover plug wass stripped out with no threads on plug or drain, only wad of Teflon tape kept plug in.. Drilled out hole to half inch and tapped for m14 plug. Flushed tank with some gas to remove any metal chips. Bung wasn't flat enough for regular crush washer, had to buy gasketed washer. New plug, with gasket washer, and thread seal dope fixed leak. 7 gallons of new hydro fluids and splitter works again. Learned/relearned that full fuel tank floods carb and engine cylinder when sitting. After clearing fuel from cylinder got engine to run again and installed fuel shut off valve between tank and fuel pump. Split wood after work till sun down for 2 days and half Saturday before surgery. Youngest boy brought the wood into the basement to finish drying and to be used for heat during my recovery. I can't load wood stove so he keeps house warm, at 76f. Usually too hot but I'll take it during recovery. I just got the backup propane tank up sized to 100 gallons this summer too. It keeps the house warm when the kid is at school and the fire goes out.

Was in the weather for rain/ winter mix.

    AKA ice.

Have enough ice, even walking in the dirt is slick.

So I didn’t go anyplace or do anything.
