    Tried moving some dirt with the tractor this morning but my left front tire had other plans. The tread and the sidewall seperated and left a 4" tear. Needed replaced anyway.

    It's definitely a numbers game. Are you looking at 24's? If so, the 25's will be out soon if not already, so provided there's stock of the old ones, and you don't need a new car immediately, time is on your side.

    Looks like the ash borer has found it's way to my area.

    I've got a bunch of ash trees dying. :doh: I haven't looked for the classic signs of the "D" bore holes in the trees; pretty much pointless anyway.

    I'll be dropping them over time (no hurry) and also getting rid of some basswood. Opening things up should really help the maples and red oaks.

    Yep, they probably were around your area several years ago. But now you're seeing the trees dying. Unfortunately it's too late. But it does create good firewood and will let other trees grow.

    The ash will be the only species cut.

    We have been burning the tops (branches and smaller stuff) at the pit as I drop them. One thing is for sure, the smell from the burning ash has become repulsive for me.

    I put in pick up order for tomorrow at the grocery store (he can't get it today). 2 new recipies to try and the ingredients go into other of our regular dinners. YUM

    I just added a pack of Buddig "meat", I can't wait to make SOS like my Dad did for me when I was little :drool:

    Did you eat that as a kid too? OMG :drool: That said my Dad knew how to cook anything. Anything! Even learned wok in Viet Nam (per-war declaration but still a war) in the early 60's, ontop of all his cooking at home growing up. Then learned recipies from from my Mother's mom = his MIL. He could cook anything!
