I didn't know, turns out the party guy has a cannon too. A real cannon. 3 shots today, holy cow! I'd heard it a couple times before but I thought someone or a neighbor had tannerite. Weird.
The lighter wood was cut with a saw...the darker wood split when the tree fell...just looks different with the way the light reflects off it
Fantastic location and a nice updated interior. The exterior looks like a grange hall or old school building. Front and rear decks are way too primitive for the price. Driveway is just dirt with no edging—absolutely no landscaping.
Aseptic/Shelf Stable Milk? I asked for organic whole milk and he brought some home. The white plastic jug is opaque, and it says expires in Sept 2024 Years back I saw milk in juice box packaging on the shelf (not refrigerated) and thought it was synthetic. I guess this is pasteurized differently and in sterile conditions. Another web source said these days it's ultra high pasteurized. Not keen on it, what are your thoughts on it?
The results of pruning by Katrina Harrmann I hate pruning the grapevine in my garden. Cutting off some of the plant always seems counterproductive when what I want is a larger, thriving vine! But if I don’t prune, the plant will not produce as well next year. People are often the same way. How many times have you suffered through a rough season in life only to look back and realize you grew immensely as a result? It happens to us all. “[God the Father] cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful” (John 15:2). God trims us back in ways that make us even more fruitful as we move forward. We don’t always understand it, but rest assured—he does. “Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. … But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of. … You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself” (C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity). The next time you think you can’t bear the “pruning” God is doing in your life, remember that the Master Gardener always knows what he’s doing. And the finished product will be amazing!
I used to use the box milk for camping all the time. I haven't seen it in years. Tastes a little different but not bad.
I've only seen it in those big juice boxes that are supposedly recyclable but good luck finding a way to recycle them. It's all you can get in some countries. You don't have to refrigerate it until you open it. I have a strong distaste for artificial sweeteners and to me it tastes like it is artificially sweetened. It isn't, but it tastes like it. Even stevia gives me an odd stomach cramp. I don't drink much milk and unfortunately am constantly throwing out aged milk that has soured. An argument has been made that we really don't need milk in our diets after a year old/nursing age and I'm sure the dairy industry doesn't like that idea.
Ultra pasteurized is ok. It has a long code date but beware. Once you open the carton it needs to be used up.
I interviewed for a position a in number of years ago at a place that makes these aseptic/ shelf stable milk products. It's big business here in Wisconsin as you can imagine. I've had plenty of it and I have no problem drinking it. It would be excellent for camping where you don't need to refrigerate it until you want to drink it.
Just finished mowing the lawn. I'll break out the new Stihl battery weed eater after I have a nice cold vodka lemonade and get the trimming around the house.
I've heard my entire life of drinking while doing yard work. I don't drink, but I hate mowing so I thought I would try it. I can't stand the taste of beer and I don't know how to make the fruity drinks I like. Someone told me about Mike's. I got 2 down and wrecked my lawnmower.
