Husband does. As a kid he spent a lot of time at the great grandparents walnut ranch, ran around shooting birds off the fruit trees. Great grandma (1896, Italy) had him bring back the Robins for her spaghetti sauce. I guess the favorite was that sauce for Talgarini and he loved that!

It's only the little breast though, no wings, sorry Chaz

Finished raking the gravel back onto the driveway yesterday. Also, I used the loppers to cut back all the scrub that was growing alongside the drive.

Not only my back and neck but even legs and arms are rebelling at these actions. I did take it easy and completed it over a couple weeks (1/2 hour at a time).

Sucks to get old but it is sure better than the alternative! :handshake:

We are finishing up our flooring project today by moving the furniture back into place. The piano was pivoted and slid around as needed.

My wife and I are happy with how it turned out. Removing the living space carpeting and connecting the living dinning, dinning room and kitchen with continuous vinyl plank really makes things look a lot nicer.

Attended my quarterly civil war group meeting. everyone was in a great mood and chatting before and after. Great thing was it was about ten minutes from the airport, so i was able to pick up my former helper and her mom from their Florida trip.

She is now close to finishing her engineering degree and was awarded a fellowship with X Force and will be working on things related to the B2 Stealth bomber. They are in for a treat. Home was quiet and a beautiful evening. Tomorrow will be out playing with equipment.

Looks great. We removed all carpeting 10 yrs ago and love it. We have a few very small carpets in select areas to prevent tracking in wet. Hard surfaces that get wet are very slippery. We are both high fall risks and cannot get back up on our own. We put down the same ceramic tile throughout the living areas. That was a very good decision. We also hire someone to come in once a week for cleaning assistance.

Should give some one a laugh

It’s been an interesting day so far…
I get up and hop in shower unbeknownst to me; my beautiful wife had flipped the suction cup shower mat over to clean it and had put a soapy substance on it. Of course it slides overs the drain and effectively makes the tub a 5’ slip and slide surf board combination… thank heavens for grab bars!! No injuries but Bambi on ice would have come in 2nd..

After wife comes back inside with dogs

Sweet heart…. yes dear… are you trying to be a widow??

    OMG… I am so sorry

Then with the plowing of the wet heavy snow the last 2 weeks has revealed some of the fabric underneath..

I got a :tractor: Load bucket from piles
The piles are right where plow stopped. The wet heavy sticky snow rolled putting inch of gravel in snow roll. When snow melted foot deep piles of gravel.. rake piles into bucket and bring to spots on 1/4 mile drive come at fabric patches perpendicular and dump gravel on spot smooth with rake.. easy enough hour job… Right?
Rong so darn wrong it isn’t even spelled right!!

Load bucket first little part done cross culvert going uphill 8-10% grade. Go off driveway into field to come at fabric sideway.. start spinning in mud..
no problem pop in neutral slap in 4wd
There’s ditch on edge of driveway 2 tires spin:mad:
Slide foot back to step on posi traction..

Did I mention it was muddy. Right foot slides from posi under brake pedal ought ohh
    Start rolling backwards :jaw:
    Ohh not good..
Try to slam into gear and kill motor; engine torque will stop it:faint: I miss Gear:headbang:

Now I don’t have power steering as I shut engine off and I am picking up speed heading to culvert.. can’t re start as I am not in double neutral.. backwards
I can’t get to brake; as shoe laces are caught in metal bracket that holds left and right brake together..

Now going 15 mph (feels like 30) backwards no brakes and limited steering. Of course with neck surgery can’t really turn to see where I am going. But wife and dogs are running at me..
Now I know my driveway.. where I am at is about 3 foot drop to swamp.. where I am headed is over seven feet.. that part of driveway bends to the right.. 2 hands on wheel crank hard go off embankment into swamp… tractor stops.. landing was spine jarring to say least..
Remove feet slap in 4 low and back up hill
In all of this I didn’t loose any gravel..

Enough excitement for 1 day.. it’s raining now
I am relaxing.. I might be sore in the morning

Spent some money at our cabin this week. The wood landing was rotting so I tore it out went decorative concrete.
It had not been sealed in this pic, now it has 4 coats on it.

    IMG_4271.jpeg

Then I had a sidewalk put in between the garage and shed.

    IMG_4272.jpeg

Then another crew put a poly urea/naptha coating on the garage floor.

I think I like spending money on our cabin. Wife knows I could live there and it scares her!
