I just file as I normally do, as soon as I can, usually in early to mid February. I've received this revisions too, and I ignore them because I e-file and they are accepted within 24 hours typically.

    That's on the investment company.

I changed insurance companies last fall. The only reason I know there was a house inspector is they showed up on an off-Friday. I had gone to do some errands in the big city and when I came back there was a vehicle parked across from my house with someone in it writing down stuff. I thought it was kind of weird, but I at the time I didn't realize is was the house inspector. If it had been a day I was working, I never would have known. I never heard back, so apparently there was nothing they were fussed about.

Probably a good thing that a couple of months earlier I'd had my back porch/ramp replaced and the basement windows on the backside removed and blocked in as their frames were severely rotted and panes broken and boarded up. Probably also good that when my water heater cr*pped out, I decided to replace it and the 30 year old boiler with a direct vent appliance. With that, I had the chimney shortened to remove damaged rows of block and then had the chimney capped. Oh, and just the year before I'd had a bunch of trees taken down as they were sick/dying - not super close to the house, but they were tall/big enough, and leaning toward the house that they would have done damage if they came down. Oh yeah, winter of 2022 I had my old falling apart metal shed removed and had the new shed installed - they would have flagged that old shed in a heartbeat.

All that was just fortuitous timing - I hadn't been planning to change insurance companies but when my previous company came up with a nearly 40% increase over the previous year, I started shopping around.

Moparguy The countertop may be laminate with a butcher block design. When we built our house in the 70s, laminate was popular (pretty much standard) and you could get all sorts of designs including butcher block.

Are you talking a countertop? If so, I'd strongly suggest against that. It's not really designed for that kind of abuse.

I scored a few boxes of prefinished hardwood flooring a few years back. I made two countertops with them (so far). One was a work bench top and the other for a countertop for an 8' base cabinet I used in a rec room.

I would not advise using vinyl plank flooring or even laminated flooring for a countertop.

couple years worth 377.JPG This is the rec room countertop along with a close up of it. Never mind the stickers....

I should have stated that those stickers in the 3rd pic are ones that I found while looking through some old boxes. I just laid them on the counter top and took a pic of them....I didn't stick them onto the surface! :salute:

Working from home. Took my lunch break and sprayed Captan on the fruit trees before the rain comes tomorrow. Got a visit from my barn buddy.

Nope, King Snake. I think these are called "Black King Snake". When you hear someone say "black snakes eat the bad snakes" that's what they're talking about. I think they have color variations and other varieties depending on the region. But if you see one of those, don't kill it... they're your friend.

I find all snakes to be repulsive, but I have come to accept them and leave them alone. I seem to have some aversion to most all reptiles.

Lol they're definitely a shock when you come across one unexpectedly. But those won't bother you. I've found them to be pretty friendly and respectful in any interactions I've had with them. And I think they give off a scent that warns other snakes not to come around.

I've got a tent campsite booked at one of our state parks for May 31st-June 2nd. Other than some backyard camping, I haven't taken the kids to a campground since probably 2018. It's a small place only 9 miles from home so an easy commute and no big deal in the event I have to go back home for something. I want to make it a point to go a couple times this summer, maybe even rough it in the real woods somewhere with my 12 year old. Too many summers have gone by with me thinking "I should take them XYZ..." and not doing it.

We have been tent camping with the kids since they have been infants. The people next to us probly didn’t alway enjoy it but the kids love it! Have fun!

The last time we went, my younger son was only 3 and he had an absolute meltdown at around 10pm. My wife ended up taking him home and I stayed behind with my older son and one stepdaughter. This time around it's just going to be me and my sons - and I'm more than okay with that. You're pretty brave taking infants camping. :)
