Just a slow moving mole ww and was funny watching her stop and listen for it to be burrowing through the snow then she'd grab it again.
The little fella finally got away.:picard::D

We went to the 40th anniversary of the St.Lawrence County Snowmobile Assoc. at Seveys Point (a new store south of here) we took the car because of the lack of snow.

We did stay for the Chicken Barbeque which was very good, when we got back I put a quick 20 miles on the sled.

Well it was cold out, but I kept moving and things went well. Fully covered head to toe and I was warm. I took down some smaller Ash and a few Pine, basically doing some clearing for a new trail to access more Ash for firewood and logs. I then started the Kubota up, let it warm up for about 10 minutes and retrieved three boxes of rounds. Then after I put the tractor away I brought a little more wood into the basement. So I worked outside for about three hours this afternoon. And that was enough. I'm pooped. Here is a couple pics from the woods.

thewoodlands , I was wondering if they were fully opened yet. Do you know when they actually open? The last time I went by there it looked like they might be open but I was not sure. I hope that store does well. A good, convenient location. I will stop in there the next time I am up to Cranberry Lake area and give them some business. I also am going to take my wife to Jake's some night when the weather gets warmer. It is a bit out of the way but I want to check that area out anyway. And she needs a night without any kids.  I don't know how she does it. Teach little kids in 1st grade (6 and 7), and then come home and take care of three young ones (2 that just turned 11 and one that just turned 8)! She is making three different cakes for there cake and ice cream for the family party. YEAH! I get cake and ice cream tomorrow! Then snacks for the super bowl game! The watching what I eat is going out the friggin window tomorrow!:dex:

Thanks Loon. This has been a great winter so far for retrieving firewood and working in the woods doing some thinning and getting started on a new trail/working area. I wish I had more time for the woods, but I have to balance it with the family things to do. It's all good though! The woods will still be there tomorrow!

Bruce Ames who use to own Ames Country Store in Colton across from the Post Office is running Seveys Point. Your wife said the kids are easy, it's you that takes up most of her time!

Why, she wouldn't know what to do without me!:D

Okay. :emb:Actually! She has my vote for canonization. I believe the church should change the rules to allow the living to be canonized. And she should be the first for putting up with me for this long!

My wife had been making cakes for many years. She has talent! This is a quick one she made. Each year she makes three different cakes for the kids. They get to pick their theme. I get to help them eat them! Our eleven year old girl is reading the series called The Seekers.

It was the "farm boards" under the plywood squeeking. I put a whole box of screws in them to reattach to the joists.

I have a major high spot I'm trying to decide what to do with now...

My back says I'm done for the day....brain says get busy.
