Hi everyone. I’ve been off the forum for a bit taking care of things.
I’ve been building a 24x40 timber frame Pavilion/Carport the last year and today I got into the 2nd layer. (Finally)

The reason I wanted to check in is that now I’m using the “Knots” that my Secret Santa gave me from here. (And I still haven’t figured out who it was!

I’m using a 24’ gin pole, 4to1 tackle, 4 guy lines to raise the 500 lb Timbers by myself.
So it’s been fun using the knots in the book in a real scenario.

Hope all is well. I’ll start getting back in here more often now that the weather is cooling, I’ll be back into the hoarding life.
    Lenny

Today was a day of emotions. We had lunch with friends and it was Karen that was celebrating her birthday. After lunch we headed to church to attend the funeral of a friend of ours. He was just a month shy of his 80th birthday. What is amazing about that is he had cerebral palsy since birth and spend most of his life in a wheelchair. Most people with that disease don't make it past their 40th birthday. He loved Jesus and had received communion two days before he died. Looking forward to seeing him in heaven standing up straight and in perfect health.

10,500lbs of muscle was a HUGE help to have for a week not too long ago.

IMG_4625.jpeg Put it to work clearing unwanted brush, stumps, and certain trees. Cleaned out two main drainage ditches and shaped ground in those areas. Lot of work done fast in 7 days. Tough to match the speed of a strong mini excavator.

It does indeed. My dad went into hospice a few weeks ago for a degenerative brain disease.

    Hi Dennis.
I have to admit to having a couple of knife knots in the rigging.

    You know. A knife knot….
It the kinda knot that takes a knife to get it loose!

I went Tuesday. Got sent back to PT first time since 2020. Referred to an orthopedist. Sent for new X-Rays. Scheduling CT scan and MRI with some metal block thing because of all the hardware installed. That’s a new one for me. Wasn’t a happy day.

Maybe they're running new baselines since it's been 3 years?

Yeah the metal block. She didn’t even say how that worked, just it’s a newer thing and doesn’t produce the best MRI in lots of cases.

Haven’t had many issues other than it gets worse every year. First time I’ve said anything and haven’t had any imaging since everything was installed in 2016. Had MRI on my knee when they did the meniscus is all. PT is all about fine muscles, been having issues with that from the beginning. Lately it’s worse because the joint has worn to a point nothing is lined up anymore. I’ve developed an impingement, that makes things much worse. Wife is a PT and constantly has me doing things at home but it’s not helping much anymore.

Yeah, I have a bit of metal in me too but have had several MRI with no problems. It didn't used to be that way.
