I'm wondering if they offer some sound dampening from the road and some of the lights from the store across the street?

I think it takes a special talent to be able to maneuver those huge rigs and have to compete with the small cars driven by so many airheads. You have my respect for surviving so long. Once you take up farming, you will look back and wonder how you ever did what you are doing.

Been doing it pretty much since 1990. Took off from 1998 to 2011 to get a degree in industrial management and work manufacturing for 6 years.

trucking is much easier than cubieville. IMHO.

not quite 2 million miles. Traffic and drivers are a lot big part of coming off the road.

not really taking up farming. More moving to the country like I’ve always wanted.

    thank you though.

    :dancer:

Encouraged kiddo in the past to help her dad and use tools (screw drivers/drills etc.) with little interest. Last week we put together an RTA desk, and yesterday a new bedframe. Just now, she came out, grabbed the drill with confidence and took it to her room :) And I heard her using it in there!!

It all happens on her God Given schedule, skipped sippy cups and straight to a glass. Joy of reading did not click til 4th grade but now she's over 200 wpm Woodwidow . And now, the achievement of using tools, the pride and independence of that clicked. Also, we painted her room last week too, I rolled what I could but she taped the ceiling and trim and did the rest.

    Proud Mama

She's not a fan of using her fingers, but when she does it's 217.

Thanks for the lead. Now, that would be a deal! Looks too good to be true though and probably a long way from SC!

Yup. Iron is much heavier than water, absolutely it will sink. Those that believed it COULDN’T sink also believe the world is heating up at astronomical percentages. Those without the CNN mindset and have open brains can see beyond narratives with some facts.

Good to hear she is growing into a great kid. Your encouragement really helps.

It was only in the mid 70s today. I took it easy today and waited till 11 to start working on the old minivan. Had to replace cam position sensors. And to do that you have to remove the throttle body and upper intake. I need to replace the valve cover gaskets but I didn't want to tear into it that much. I'm waiting on the cam phaser activators to need replaced. They have to come out to take the valve covers off. The egr or pcv setup need to be removed too. I feel like replacing all the junk next time. I needed the van to run for kids to drive to morning band and afternoon soccer practices this week.

Then I flail mower the perimeter of the south pasture. Greased the tractor, loader, and mower before I parked it.

While I was mowing I noticed the lagoon pipe was grown over so I finished the day with digging it out before my sewer line backed up. I need to get an excavator and dig the lagoon pit out. That seems like a job for late fall or winter.

Thanks, but TBH I can't take any credit, tried encouraging when she was younger, it was just her time, the motivation was a bedroom makeover :)

I disagree; when you encourage kids; think of it like planting seeds. Some grow some don’t, BUT with kids you never know when they will bloom..

keep doing what you’re doing

So true. So as Canadian border VT says - keep doing what you're doing.

Time to start on the next build...a pair of custom office desks. These are complicated enough that I have to do a "real" drawing to make sure I account for everything. I quickly found I am awful rusty but it comes back to you quick. Still have have some details to clean up but this should be good enough to get it done...not like I need to provide an "as-built" drawing or anything.

They aren't small...9'x8'x6'. Hickory and hickory veneer plywood. Should look good. Need them to knock down into 3 pieces to fit through the door.

I usally have to build stuff for other people that I wouldn't build for myself, but I'm kinda jealous of this one...would make one helluva workbench.
