If it's a chain drive double check the chain tension. I've had them jump on the drive sprocket.

Do you know much about garage door openers? Mine will open a little than stop about 10" up than a little more. Doesn't do it all the time.

Check your safety eyes, they might be slightly out of alignment and the vibration may just be enough to stop the door now and then. Happened to me a couple of times.

I had the same problem with our safety eyes, only it was going down, not on the way up.

Are the elec eyes blocked in any way? Dirt/crud on them? Wires corroded? I had a wire break in it's jacket once and acted a little like that.

Edit: I shoulda read the other posts first...

More than I care to.:headbang: Modern ones have safety pressure switches for up & down. So if it's constantly stalling at the same height check the rollers that would be under pressure there as well as the panel seam that's opening. Could just need to bump that switch setting up a hair. As far as I know the eyes only matter when the door is closing.

The wife and kids helped me load the wood bin on the rolling platform I made for under the porch. We did that several times this morning and I used the tractor and forks and loaded a full truckload of nice dry wood and delivered it to a customer around 1pm. That money will go toward the property taxes I just got in the mail. :picard:

Then stopped at the grocery store for wife on the way home for some things she needed for dinner. By this time it was almost 2pm. Time to go in the woods:thumbs:! Didn't have much time though, dinner was at 4. :( But I used the bucket on the tractor and scraped down the new trail I am making into the new cutting area. This is going to work out well. I am going to make some new trails around the property while cutting wood and thinning the woods! So I only took a small load out today. But got some good things done today.

Then after dinner, and a needed rest, I went down down to the basement for the boiler cleaning. Cleaned the boiler out. Then cleaned the pipe from the boiler to the outside chimney. That is quite a job. Not hard really. But messy and takes a little time. Altogether about an hour for the boiler and the pipe. Waiting for the new cement to dry before I cure it with some heat.

Several good things done today. I tired. Beer time.

Our old school double garage door was abused with by the wind, we had to adjust the track joints that are closer to the motor a few times over the years. Wind vibrates door, wheels get loose, and it would jam on the tracks near the top. Tighten wheels, lubricate, adjust and tighten tracks. I hope you have a fix that was that easy :)

That's what I'm doing Chvymn99. Boiler fired back up and almost to temperature already. On my second cold one. Won't be long before I am completely horizontal!
