    Another ouch for sure!
$890 would run our heat pump water heater for a couple years, at least.

I really need to look into adding one to the boiler system.

I checked this morning and two oil dealers raised prices again this morning. One is $4.80 gal and the other is $5.22. No reason it should be rising this quickly this soon. I’m looking into Bio-Bricks if this winter is cold and long because I may not have enough dry wood. No way I want to burn any oil other than for hot water.

$4.28 from $.12 yesterday. One part of HHO (supply and demand) prices is volume in storage. While crude was falling HHO was going up in the very recent past and <maybe> with political pressure to lower gas prices before midterms - doing so at the expense of less volume for the HHO supplies ? Maximized profits is supposedly the refiners end goal, investors pockets are supposed to be their bottom line, but these days of far too obviously greased palms of the movers and shakers who knows. The peasants never will.

This oil should last a long while. The Wood Gun will get fired up as soon as the hot weather goes away. Then we won’t be burning oil for hot water, or anything else.

Went for a long walk this morning. Did a little jogging here and there. The 7 mile loop tired me a bit. Then got cleaned up and went to the transfer station with ALL the garbage. I Yi Yi. :picard:

Resting now and then taking my wife and youngest to my Mother’s house for lunch. Our two seniors are now Freshman again and gone to college. Very proud of them. But. Strange times here.

Back to cutting grass this afternoon.

Now that our national reserves have been depleted (and for what?) the first lil hiccup that comes along to disrupt things (hurricane season?) is gonna make $4-5 gallon gas/diesel/HHO look like fire sale pricing...I'm afraid we are in the calm before the storm...sure hope and pray I am wrong though.

We did the HPWH close to 10 years ago. We would use 100+ gallons of oil just for hot water in the off season. We can do domestic off our wood boiler but haven’t used the boilermate for a few winters now. Doesn’t justify itself with the price the HPWH runs for and I don’t pull an extra load on the boiler. We typically use oil in he fall and spring for heat and burn @150 gallons. Bought 600 gallons in 2020 cheap (the good ol days) and still have half left. Probably will just start the boiler early this fall, I ran it longer last spring. Have he oil if we need it.

Grabbed my chainsaw from the repair shop today. Just over 100 for the gas tank assembly and also on/off switch.

I was set to buy a used ms 251 with the quick adjust chain tensioner for 250 but someone beat me to the shop this morning and it was gone! Dang
