21º this morning and lit the first fire in two weeks. No need to burn any heating oil when it’s this cold.

    LOOKING HEAVENWARD

In parenting our discontent and pride can reveal areas where we get caught up in the "things that are on earth." We can be competitive when we compare our children to other kids. We feel validated when they are the star athlete or an academic whiz, but we get upset when they are overlooked or unmotivated. We find ourselves buying into the value system of other parents.

How can we set our minds on things above? Start the day by praising God. Ask Him to reveal your motivations. Recognize where you are seeking the approval of others over the approval of God. Seek His wisdom through Bible study and prayer. God provides the resources, but we "set our minds on things above" when we incorporate them into our parenting.

Make a conscious effort each day to focus on what is eternally important.

    Scripture

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
    Colossians 3:1‭-‬2 NIV

Me, I'd probably just leave it like it rather than bother.

That being said, I do soon have to install a toilet.

Nice looking place and yard. Is it a modular building put on a foundation?

I paid off my truck last month and my credit score went down this month. Our banking system runs on kinda warped logic.

I rarely look at my credit score. I don't care nor do I want credit.

I put a locking pin on my truck's trailer hitch about 10 years ago and promptly lost the key. I knew I should have removed it but never bothered. Fast forward to yesterday and decided it was time. It is rusty, crusty, and I don't trust it anymore.

Cut the pin with the angle grinder....drifted the pin out a lot easier than I thought. Soaked the hitch in PB blaster. Tied a chain to a tree and to the hitch. Let off the brake and rolled forward 3 feet...tried that about 10 times and no go. Beat the pizz out of it with a 8lb sledge....back to the tree 5 more times. Broke the chain. Fixed the chain. 5 more bumps and it finally came out. Good thing too...I was about 1 more bump from getting the hot wrench out. Real redneck stuff.

It was easier than I expected...could have been a lot worse. I only broke 1/4" chain...not like it was real log chain.
