    slacker.......

    :D :wacky: :rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol::rofl: :lol:

    The sky is clear and the moon is so bright when I woke I thought that maybe I slept late (past dawn? Yeah right!) and then I though maybe there were headlights in the yard?

    One of those nights where you can go anywhere without lighting. So bright outside, there are well defined shadows.

    And, of course, along with those clear skies comes the cold temps..........-18 right now; no wind, thank goodness!

    Caffeine! Must do the bills today and get them sent out.

    Yesterday was cold enough with the wind that I stayed inside most of the day. Did get a workout in and then went for a 45 minute walk in the late afternoon, all bundled up so warm that I was sweating. But my face was cold from the breeze.

    Not sure what I’ll do today, it’s not much warmer. But the forecast shows it will go to 21. I think I will start disassembling some stuff in our basement bathroom. It needs a complete remodel. But that will wait until the finance situation allows it. In the meantime I can begin taking things apart.

    We had a snowfall. Snow wasn't cleared adequately. Forklift doesn't like snow. Spent a large portion of my day spinning out and getting stuck.

    also had a pallet tip over as I brought it inside, soft drinks, detergent, etc. That wasn't fun to clean up. Then the truck driver started arguing about it, at one point seemed to imply it was my fault, and that his company wasn't responsible because it was off the truck. Their pickers need to learn how to stack a pallet better.

    I'm sorry for your troubles. In the US liability falls on either the store or the delivery driver. Who's forklift was it? Either the store or the delivery driver should have refused if the snow was not cleared adequately. I suppose at this point either the driver will take demerit on his record or the store will eat the cost. Either way sounds unsafe to unload and one of the two companies is going to have to eat that.

    Our forklift. The wholesaler will give us credit on the items, the fault is ultimately with the person who stacked the pallet. It was horribly unbalanced, an accident waiting to happen and it did. The snow was a nuisance all day but I managed to get that pallet inside before it tipped (it's a slight slop going in there) and several more pallets up the much steeper hill to the sales floor without the product getting hurt, even if the forklift was reluctant to go.

    Also a rollback tow truck, international durastar, carrying a Chevy pickup belonging to the police no less, broke down itself in front of our store today. Another durastar rollback from the same company came and flat towed it way with a cable. That was funny.

    This eerily happened on the 40th anniversary of the sinking of one of our oil rigs, which took all 84 crew members down with it.

    very sad...

    Here too.:picard:They are saying after tomorrow’s rain it will turn to sleet/ice and then snow. For our area possibly 4-10” + by Friday morning. It is winter. And we are only almost 2/3 of the way through it.

    Typical of today's weather forecasters. When we see the forecast changing about every 6 hours and none turn out to be accurate it makes one wonder. Anymore I see the forecast and immediately tone it down. Like our forecast for 12" of snow (again) we may get an inch but none so far. They even report it has been snowing here but if they were to look outdoors all they would see is wet. Rain should be about done now but the temperature is falling fast so at the end it could turn to freezing rain or snow showers.

    The temp fell 9 degrees in the last hour. Forecast 1" snow today and now saying 3" tonight.

    We are getting all the kinds of weather today, almost.

    Hit 60 around midnight, 52 now. 2" of rain overnight with a few rumbles of thunder. Heavy fog forming now. Supposed to get high winds and falling temps all day that will change the rain to ice/sleet, then snow. Low of 9 tonight.
