Very nice. Now all you need is to cover the top of it with wool mittens, scarves and a bunch of boots shoved next to it on the floor! :D

I now know why the people here pronounce the town of Dubois like DuhBoys.

A Wyoming town named for an Idaho Senator made no sense to residents, so in protest, the citizens of Dubois rejected the French pronunciation, instead opting for Du, with u as in “Sue”; bois, with oi as in “voice” with the accent placed on the first syllable.

Didn't really get cold enough (40) to know whether or not the garage heat did much last night, but it should get a good test tonight (11). If it can hold temp I'll call it done...if it can't I guess I'll add the other radiator.

That would work too. I imagine it costs more than the common white, but the log home finish isn't chosen for cost effectiveness either...

I like brown shingles because they bear the closest resemblance to wooden shakes/shingles, which suits a log place. Black and especially grey give a slate look, black being a neutral color for going with painted (or vinyl) siding. That place doesn't look bad with the black roof though, and it would probably look better with black windows to suit the roof too.

I've never been a big fan of natural wood tones combined with painted surfaces, particularly white. not so bad if the wood is stained dark, then it can work sometimes. But say, light tone hardwood flooring against white walls, not for me. me. For the wood look in that scenario, I like grey stains and what not. My garage is painted blue, but I thinned it down so that it's more of a stained look than you typically see in painted wood siding, still exposes the wood's character although it's brightly colored. If I was doing a room or what have you in a natural wood tone, (as in pine or your other common light beige woods), I'd keep the wood look right through and complement it with dark stained accents such as walnut tone.

    But to each their own.

lukem is always busy and always has fantastic work projects going. Seems to be skilled at everything he puts his mind to. I think he has run out of rooms to do over in his house.
