Had a successful morning scouting for future scrounges and marked around 20 trees. Got home and figured I need to clean up some of my remaining rounds before I bring more home so started working on these this afternoon (plus I need my trailer back).

OMG, just east of my childhood home is on fire. I don't get it, they are like more in the plains, not forest. Either way super sad. Hope my friends and family near there houses make it. But come on, wildfire in suburbia? Uggg.

Sounds like it's too late. I'm sure your state has way to get some feral hog in your freezer, right?

I won't be going anywhere or doing anything but watching the ball drop. Been that way for years now. I could use the excuse of the virus, but to be honest I would be staying home anyway. I did lots of traveling, hotel rooms etc when I was in the military. Now I have no desire go anywhere.

We're staying home. Our friends got covid. Kinda wanted an excuse to stay home anyways.

It's a 4 day weekend for me, so I'll get stuff done around the house. They let us go home early today. Barely anyone was in the office. So I got a cart of firewood hauled up to the patio, got the snowblower all set, emptied the ashes from the stove, and covered the last 2 boxwoods. We're all set for the snow we might get this weekend. It's going to get cold after the snow, so we're set.

I saw it on a political channel I follow and kiddo was incidently sending pictures of our super fast tall growing snow drifts to my 18 y/o niece around the same time. They are with their Dad and he's a good Dad, so I know he'll keep them safe. No clue on my sister, she moves constantly (she's a realtor and moves in a heartbeat between good deals and divorces, whatever) but her most recent new residence is near there somewhere.

Nice feeling to be all ready for whatever nature throws at you. Experience teaches us a lot. Have some favorite treats ready, put on the slippers and sit back and enjoy.
